  1. Other band members not investing in decent gear despite clearly having the means to do so (having to wait for the guitarist to tune up his crappy guitar after each song) It's a sure sign that they're only half interested in playing music.
  2. Spending £££ on bass gear then having to contribute towards a PA that you barely sing 2 words into....that usually dissappears when the band splits.
  3. Barely used eminence 10" driver .suitable as a midrange speaker. 500w 8ohm HEAVY ferrite speaker . Excellent quality
  4. Clash of colours ? One is the black, the other is black with a bit of green ? Regarding the sideways logo. Great cab but I'm not being paid to advertise for them 😁
  5. Quite stable actually . Sits between the feet quite securely
  6. Funnily enough the bass and drums are hardest to replace as well.
  7. I should also state Capos are one of my pet hates and a là cartel key changing
  8. Being treated as 'the help' because you 'only' play bass.
  9. I just recently purchased a Barefaced two 10 and it just has a really warm low end thump. I just love its portability and construction, you just know its higher end. I use a Trace Elliott 500W and an Ashdown CTM-100. I found that with the more expensive barefaced cab, the CTM-100 holds its own a lot better in the mix. I just think the Barefaced cab is really efficient. Previously I had a pair of Genz Benz focus cabs and they were really excellent cabs for the money, you just need more watts going in is all. As regards Amplification, I've owned an Orange terror bass, and an Ampeg PF350 before, good amps, but I've ended up with a Trace Elliott AH-500. These are relatively cheap at the moment second hand as they're not exactly lightweight amps compared to lighter class-d ones but they just cant be beat IMO.
  10. Latest rig. Rehearsed with it last weekend. Savage tone, Barely had it at 3.
  11. Showing off my CTM 100 with new Barefaced two10
  12. I definitely won't ever buy a new US built fender again. My current P bass is a sandberg california and jazz bass is a mayones jabba. Both cheaper than US fender counterparts and imo superior.
  13. I sold an Orange Terror bass to Paddy , he was a fast payer with no messing around. Good Comms throughout process. 100% recommended.
  14. Hi Folks Just reading of the sad decline of Gibson Guitars, Fender and PRS not doing so well either. It seems like Electric Guitar music is in somewhat declining in popularity. I wonder can the same be said of the Bass? Are they inextricably linked to one another or has the bass transcended music genres to a degree that has saved its future.
  15. Sold an Ashdown Mi10 cab to Duncan. Very easy transaction. Great communication. 100% recommended. John
  16. Fast payer and a pleasure to deal with . Recommended 100% !
  17. Agreed . At the risk of offending the PC police . Trace Elliotts are a working man's amp.
  18. I know ....it's indecent isn't it.
  19. Just received my AH500-7 . Built like a brick stinky poo house and so much clean power. It's like these amps were made to go out and earn a living .
  20. Thanks folks. GAS got the better of me and an AH-500_7 is now in a van on its way to me
  21. I own a 2008 passive Jabba 4. Fantastic Instruments.
  22. Orange Terror Bass 500W, Hybrid Amp with brand new luxury leather carry case. These amps have more than enough power for any live situation. 4 and 8 ohm switchable (without any loss of power at 8ohms), effects loop, 3 band eq. 2 brand new new Electo-Harmonix 12AX7 tubes installed (I'll include the old Orange ones). Savage tone, VERY VERY loud. One of the screws at the back used to open the top for valve replacement is cross threaded but there are 9 in total, so this only a cosmetic thing really. The leather carry case is worth £70, the original nylon one fell to pieces. This is a very cool amp going at a great price. I'm based in Ireland but can ship to UK at buyers expense.
  23. I assume this is sold?
  24. Hi There, Just looking at all the lightweight class D heads on the market at the moment. A lot of great stuff out there and I do appreciate the portability of it all but I miss the assuring solidity of Trace Elliott gear. Owned a 7215 SMC 300W combo a good few years ago, It was a tank of an amp and never missed a beat but sold it on to buy lighter stuff. I've always kept an eye out for the AH500/600 heads since and would like a more solidly built heavier amp. I see one or 2 of them for sale. Just wondering if anyone ever tried one of these. I already have a great Ashdown CTM-100 valve head and am looking for cleaner sound with more head room to compliment it.
