  1. Like using lidl shopping bags to transport leads.
  2. Hanging onto faulty components when they should have been thrown out long ago (By the way I'm going to get a soldering iron out and repair everything) . Like jack leads, XLR leads, Floppy mike stands, faulty guitar tuners, faulty patch leads, I could go on and on. Then having to sift through all these parts during stage set up.
  3. Can a 4 ohm cab be converted to an 8 ohm cab without replacing the drivers ?
  4. The best guitarists I've played with have been gentlemen.
  5. I've been in a band with a few mediocre guitarists with notions. Luckily I've played with good drummers and I just pounded out the bass until the guitarists got his stinky poo together between making mistakes etc. As the end of the gig we usually got praised etc with the guitarists beaming. For all its complexity its an instrument that you can get away with. I find whenever I slip up on bass its REALLY noticable.
  6. Hi Folks. I'm seeing this cab for sale, brand new for peanuts. 18" cab on paper it should sound unreal....shouldn't it? I cant find any specs on this apart from the fact that its a 400W 8ohm cab...oh and it comes in at 40kg....ouch. Just wondering if anyone out there has any experience with this cabinet. Cheers
  7. I have one 4 ohm cab. can I use an 8 ohm cab on the other jack?
  8. I have a question regarding my Trace Elliot AH500. on the back there are 2 outputs, a speakon and a 1/4" jack. The impedance information merely reads 'minimum load 4 ohms' can I use 2 outputs into 2 separate 4 ohm cabs or do I now need to use use 2 * 8 ohm cabs (or does it matter) ?
  9. Or Joint...
  10. Lead Singer / Acoustic guitarist turns up to open air gig and plays gig with guitar out of tune and doesn't notice, sound man ended up killing his guitar, down to one guitarist to play lead / rhythm. Tells us afterwards he tuned his guitar at home, thought it would be OK....doesn't have a shell case just uses a gigbag.
  11. Not amazingly well. But the BL just puts that down to ignorance of the audience than poor selection of cover songs.
  12. Playing covers that nobodys heard of but are the BLs favourite songs.
  13. Our band uses messenger all the time to organise stuff. Works very well. One band member in a previous band had a 'problem' with Facebook . Made things a bit awkward.
  14. Having to organise rehearsal and gigs around the gig schedule of Johnny -ten-bands drummer
  15. People using band rehearsal to learn the songs
  16. Or not knowing how to use their guitar. Playing rhythm and lead using the same pick up - volume settings . Not knowing how to use their pedals etc.
  17. Other band members not investing in decent gear despite clearly having the means to do so (having to wait for the guitarist to tune up his crappy guitar after each song) It's a sure sign that they're only half interested in playing music.
  18. Spending £££ on bass gear then having to contribute towards a PA that you barely sing 2 words into....that usually dissappears when the band splits.
  19. Barely used eminence 10" driver .suitable as a midrange speaker. 500w 8ohm HEAVY ferrite speaker . Excellent quality
  20. Clash of colours ? One is the black, the other is black with a bit of green ? Regarding the sideways logo. Great cab but I'm not being paid to advertise for them 😁
  21. Quite stable actually . Sits between the feet quite securely
  22. Funnily enough the bass and drums are hardest to replace as well.
  23. I should also state Capos are one of my pet hates and a là cartel key changing
  24. Being treated as 'the help' because you 'only' play bass.
  25. I just recently purchased a Barefaced two 10 and it just has a really warm low end thump. I just love its portability and construction, you just know its higher end. I use a Trace Elliott 500W and an Ashdown CTM-100. I found that with the more expensive barefaced cab, the CTM-100 holds its own a lot better in the mix. I just think the Barefaced cab is really efficient. Previously I had a pair of Genz Benz focus cabs and they were really excellent cabs for the money, you just need more watts going in is all. As regards Amplification, I've owned an Orange terror bass, and an Ampeg PF350 before, good amps, but I've ended up with a Trace Elliott AH-500. These are relatively cheap at the moment second hand as they're not exactly lightweight amps compared to lighter class-d ones but they just cant be beat IMO.
