  1. People over valuing their item
  2. I think those glowing bottles are mercury vapour rectifier valves . I say the thing sounds marvellous
  3. I love this geeky clip
  4. Ball locks to the rules 😂
  5. Didn’t stop me nearly buying one of those second hand ABM 810s available at Ashdown
  6. You won’t get much good out of high powered amps and 8x10s turned up to 1 though . Maybe this the the final thing that will kill the “big rig”
  7. Just browsing around here it seems a lot of people are trying to unload surplus gear with this covid-19 situation, some for much smaller money than I've ever seen. and that's just the musicians. The whole industry must be on the verge of collapse. I wonder will a lot of stores and even websites go to the wall 😗
  8. I was toying with the idea of selling mine but decided to get it serviced instead. I sent it to Ashdown where Guy there fixed a few bits and bobs, now I think I'll hang onto it as It sounds great. Like yourself I didn't really gig with it as much and used solid state amps, but when this is all over I intend to make it earn its keep.
  9. I haven't played my one in anger in a long time 😥
  10. A lot of CTM30s /LB30s for sale at the moments on this site . A great way to get into valves .
  11. I had one of these for a short while many many moons ago. Seems ok to me , sounded great and very loud, sturdy robust construction. I moved it on as I wasn’t confident of their longevity or long term serviceability ( or would a tech even touch it) I reckon it’s worth about £250-300 ish second hand.

  13. Mr 1000w bass cab and sandberg Lionel
  14. Any users out there ? They look pretty decent , any users out there?
  15. I’m in Ireland so I couriered it over . Not too expensive, I just think one cheap component needed replacing a phase inverter 🤷‍♂️. Certainly sounds louder than before. Beefier . Can’t wait to gig with it 😢
  16. My amp back from Ashdown all serviced , thrilled with the results
  17. Although not quite as cheap I saw an Ashdown ctm100 with roqsolid cover go for £500 out of rich tone music...some bargains in that place
  18. Personally Id like the internals to be completely covered because Id be guarantee to break it otherwise. But Mickalis really knows what he's doing and his amps have gotten rave reviews. They can do what ever you want really.
  19. I almost forgot...pure tone amps from Greece . They do a very tidy 120w valve amp
  20. I’ve never been bothered about over hang so long as the feet touch the cabinet or the cabinet fits between the feet. but I can understand how it could annoy a lot of people . 15” could be a bit of a squeeze . I was thinking maybe the Ashdown little bastard chassis could be used to cram the innards of the CTM 100, you could ask Mark Gooday, I think they do custom stuff 🤷‍♂️ Of course another option is to get a barefaced two10, that’s what I use
  21. Hi Matt, in the 100w valve amp market you’ve a good few options already in avoiding expensive custom builds with a good few second hand offerings floating around. Ashdown , Ampeg , Fender, Handbox all have great amps at this power. second hand ones are going for well under one grand, sometimes as low as £500
  22. Champion that !
  23. Is it called YI200 because they’re from Newcastle 🤔
