I wonder if the picture was the casting call for this video? :

The Ambassador I'll be using just arrived today. It was half the price of a ported head, so not much to lose. Didn't want experiment with the nice new Gretsch logo head! Thanks for videos, I didn't even think of YouTube. I don't have any tins of anything that big, but then, I'm not American...

I've just bought a new resonant head for my new kit's bass drum with the intention of cutting a hole for the mic and inserting damping. The standard size appears to be 5 inches, but as it's an 18 inch head, should I go smaller, or is it not that important? I'm just concerned it might ruin any remaining resonance if the hole is too large in proportion to the overall head size. Any thoughts?

Although it's not the same, there are some carbon fibre wrap/laminates that look pretty good and would be a lot less trouble for a scratchplate

Sorry, I've not forgotten, but I have no computer at present...
Phones take pretty good pictures these days

Is that a sort of double relief on the back? What's the thought behind that?

VERY different to my usual basses - and yours too, I imagine. It's got a very tight, modern tone, very growly, but very different from an old Precision for example. The body is dinky but very dense and relatively heavy.
I always remember playing my friend's and thinking it felt like a tree, and it still does - very natural feeling, almost unfinished wood.
Luckily for me, they love overdrive!
Didn't Warwick's tag line used to be "the sound of wood " ?

Nobody has mentioned Lightwave yet?

That does look rather nice. How does it balance, with the short upper bout?

Nice job. These are very usable basses, back in the 70s they used to turn up in junk shops for peanuts. The prices being asked these days are quite eye watering!

@dangerboy had some aluminium bass thing going on. Haven't seen him in a while. He bought my Kramer 450b ages ago and had an Electrical Guitar Company one iirc

The body shape is very Travis Bean

WOW!
Just the pickups actually. It's the usual poor quality Fender switch, I'd heard of a lot of quality issues with these and thought, well, I'm fine, they must be talking rubbish, then it cut out the other day in the bridge position. I always prefer blend on basses so that might give me the impetus to get on and do it

They were listed separately and sold the day I put them up. Sorry!

I’d love to need this ......... but my entire recording space is about a 3 foot radius in front of my PC 🙁.
I feel your pain, but compact can be efficient too!
