As others have noted - it a bit bizarre having your bass built at the other end of the country. Thats one of the reasons I decided to get my GB locally. Did not know about Mr Shuker then but I did consider Sei, Zoot and Status. Unfortunately Bernie can hardly manage to turn on the computer let alone send hundreds of emails.

That top pic is not a stage - its a drum riser! It also looks pretty lightweight so not surprised you had problems. Without the drummer sitting on it it would have vibrated out of the building.

1mm - lightweight! I use the 2mm Dunlop ones for full bottom and lighter ones for more click. If I want a really agressive sound I use my stainless steel pick of doom! Are you coming to the bash at Guildford?

Who said playing bass is easy? Different picks have different sound. Try using a heavier pick.

The T-Max combo is just a sleeved cab with a T-Max head so it can be taken out and put into a rack case. Just doing that will lighten the load, Peavey gear is not light! I used a T-Max with 2 Peavey 2x10's (not sure which ones as they keep fiddling with the model names, TX, TVX?). Then I run it into EBS Neo cabs without problems until gas got the better of me and I got an HD350. Very few amps have the same control over the preamp valve as the Peavey with its two gains, so if that is part of your sound it will be difficult to replace.

I've had this problem myself which is why I've kept my little cabs as the low end is a little less. I would have thought the 2x12 would be better than the 15 in this case. How about trying the old hi-fi trick of cutting a couple of squash balls in half and putting them under the cab?

Shame the cabs are different impedence. Never used a pad so I cant comment but I usually find stages boost the low end rather than cut it. But then there are stages and stages and they are all different. Room empty can also sound lots different from room full of punters. There are loads of variables here but it sounds like you should keep the 15 - not what you want to hear after all the grief. You have presumably tried different EQ settings. The EQ for the 15 might be a lot different for the 12's, and different for different venues. Thats what tone controls are for.

I used to run a T-Max and 2 2x10's. Never run out of puff.

Never had a problem with my EBS 2x12 but then I rarely check the sound out front. Never had any complaints mind. Big stages often cause problems because of the tendency not to put the amp against the back wall for boundary reinforcement and also the tendency to spread out and if you dont have really good monitoring you lose touch with the rest of the band. If the rooms are that big then you may need to go through the PA as well. Obvious answer - use both cabs!

If you are taking pictures of backlit subjects - turn the flash on manually. Its a technique called fill in flash. Automatic flash wont work cos of the light behind.
