1.
I bought the album a couple of months ago. It's very good indeed, it's more progressive than a lot of the rubbish around at the moment that parades itself as "progressive". There's some great composition and playing, and Darran has a really good voice. The music has loads of personality. So, Dan, you are the young fella everyone's been mentioning Congratulations!
Yes they are great players so its a real treat for me to play with them. I know what you mean about a lot of stuff being branded as prog when it really isn't. I won't go any further into that though as I'm sure there are enough topics around the internet about what people class as "Prog". Yeah I'm the young one . Nice to know that you have enjoyed the album. Cheers (Also added the instrumental track to the topic if any one fancies a listen)
 2. Check out this band which I now happen to be in! Its hard to categorize the music as theres a lot of different elements so take a listen and see what you think. I think Urb from this site recently reviewed the album in bass guitar magazine as well. Basically this is Jase's (from basschat) old band. He decided he wanted to do different things which coincidently you can hear in this sub forum with his new recordings with Dan Glenn. Any how Darran (Singer, guitar, keyboard) decided to act quickly and got BRYAN BELLER to fill in to record the album. I've then come in from there to go out and play the stuff live. Beller is a seriously good player and it is genuinely worth listening to this album from a bass playing point of view to see how he subtly but stylishly fits around everything else going on. www.myspace.com/godsticksmusic heres an instrumental track from the album not on myspace Theres 3 tracks from the album on there, check it out and see what you think. Theres also some gig dates up there, so if you do come to one make sure you come and say hello. We've done a few gigs so far including the Prog-bury festival at the Apex and Go Prog fest 10 in Portugal. If there are any other prog bands on here and you need support for a gig just give us a shout i'm sure we could help. www.godsticks.co.uk You can buy it from there if you really like it Cheers
 3. Hi In desperate need of a dep to do a one or two gigs for my cover band (South Wales) when i'm gigging with an original band. They are aged between 30-50 and i'm 17 so they don't care about you age! Its around £40 -£50 a gig depending on the venue (maybe you'll get lucky and have to dep one of the bigger payers). They gig every where in about an hours drive from Cardiff. Theres 2 gigs at the moment that need covering 24th september(Mountain ash) and 17th october(Maesteg) and of course the chance of more if we get any more dates that clash. Of course you need your own gear and transport. They are a nice friendly bunch and extremely talented especially for a covers band. Set list is something like this to give you an idea Tie your mother down walking by myself wishing well roaslie tush hard to handle gimmie shelter And more for the 1st set 2nd set goes something like Sweet home alabama superstition Grapevine alright now gimmie all your loving rock n roll rebel yell you give love a bad name and more Nothing to hard as you can see. Nothing has to be learn't note for note. Learn what is needed for the track then put your own stamp on it.

 7. Just bought that 5 string Status from Rob. Nothing but good things to say about my dealings with him. Received it quickly as described, and he even let me have it on approval. Would of course deal with Rob again.

 11.
Cheers Stevie. I'm only too happy to produce this stuff as long as it is of interest to you guys. Please let me know if there is anything that you need particular help with and I can taylor the sessions accordingly. I've had a fair bit of time over the holiday to produce this stuff, but as I'm going to be fairly busy in the coming weeks, my production rate will probably slow down a bit. The Major
Its definatley of interest and I look foward to any future sessions you do. Reading practice is what I need so this all is good for me personally

 18.
I'm thinking about a cab change for the covers band....loud classic rock type stuff. LH500 at the moment.
Im sure i've seen quite a few people saying they have had good results with pairing the LH series and a compact.
 19. I'd be up for this, can bring bass if you want but im not sure a mexican fender jazz would interest many people, on the other hand my Ibanez EDB 500 is an interesting bass worth trying out maybe.
 20.
Look up Jon Caulfield in Cardiff. I taught him in 1946 and he is now a well respected teacher in S. Glamorgan. Tell him Rob Palmer sent you.
He never told me he was that old! I have lessons of him also. Great teacher, PM me if you want his number ZeroDown
 21. I've just got my GCSE result for Music and got full marks in the practical side. Just play a grade 3 piece and play it perfect, there is no way they can not give you full marks if you play everything exactly as it is on the sheet you provide them to show what you are playing.
 22. wish I could like mine, but it just isn't for me. Paid £99 for it years ago
