1. Again, thank you everyone. The tack cloth does not seem to be shifting it The whole air compressor thing looks attractive, but where do I find one? It feels like I am the only one in the gang who does not have one in the garage for just this sort of occasion.

If I had offcuts it would suggest that I had the skill to craft something like this myself. Sadly not
3. Thanks everyone. My gut feeling is that the oil will do the trick, but I am a total noob so needed someone to hold my hand. The idea of giving it some Karcher is quite exciting though
4. What I really want to do is get hold of a 6 string NS EUB, get it fretted and put a bottom F# on it. Needless to say, this will not be happening any time soon!
5. Thanks Harry. I tried hoovering with a brush attachment yesterday, but the masking tape thing makes a lot of sense.
6. I am sanding a black walnut body down ready for a tru oil finish. I have worked my way down to 1000 grit but have sawdust in the grain and cannot shift it. When I damp it down with water it "disappears" but will it do the same when I put Tru Oil on it? I just do not know and do not want to present myself with a project which needs to be re-sanded. I am enjoying it, but not that much! I have "washed" it with Meths which has helped, but it is still there. Thanks Ben. Meths seems to be shifting a bit of it but it is still pretty obvious. If I knew that it would "disappear" beneath Tru Oil then I could ignore it, but I have no way of knowing

I need some advice on the sanding front. I have been through the grades and reached 1000 grit which I have been doing wet and dry. This is how it looks from far away - This is how it looks with a coat of water - But when I get close in there is sawdust in the grain - Will this just disappear when I get my Tru Oil from David Dykes on it? Also the curves around the seem to be a bit "cloudier" rather than the flat surfaces. Is this again just sawdust in the end grain? If so how to I get rid of it? TIA
9. Jack, do they have a storefront or is it just mailorder?
10. I think they do, but I was under the impression that they were strictly mail order now. I could be wrong though
11. I REALLY want to try one. Are there any at all in the uk? Either in a shop or owned.
12. Don't do it. Being in debt is not cool. Being in avoidable debt is even less cool.
13. I am looking for a fretted NS Omni bass to try, and judging by youtube comments, Mr Verity might have one. Does anyone have any contact details for him? I realise that this is a long shot. TIA
14.
It's a Warwick Pro Series (MiK) Star Bass. Unfortunately they've been discontinued, but you can still get the Rockbass version although it doesn't have the arch top and the 4-string model is only 32" scale otherwise it's the full-fat MiG Star Bass II with the associated eye-watering price tag.
Hmmm..... another bass to stalk on Ebay
15.
How about this?
OOOOOOOOF! WHAT'S THAT?
16.
Owen, are those tickets for the Manc gig still available??
They most certainly are!
17.
Don't you find that these basses you've always wanted comes at a time when you're waiting to be paid from several gigs and you have to do something to the house, car, sell a wife or cat or something!
The basses I have always wanted are ALWAYS coming along. However, what I fancy doing to that MTD is stringing it up with a bottom F# to see how it works. It is probably too expensive to be experimenting with!
18.
Damn it why do I have to have no moneys right now!?
You think you have problems?!? I fancy that MTD Marilyn!
19.
Brighton, with all my band!
Manchester with all my students!
20.
Have photos and audio, pm me if you've cash waiting.
PICTURES! PICTURES! PICTURES!
21. I still have a couple of spare tickets for the May 13th gig in Manchester if anyone wants them.
22. I am ashamed to admit that I actually knew what it was because I am a Bravewood stalker! It looks mighty fine.
23.
Nice cab - and nice Jazz bass too, love the battle-scars.
Yeah, enough about the cab - let's talk about that Jazz
