  1. i tried it, and surprisingly found it quite easy, I think the string spacing on this pretty much mimics my 4 strings and so it was far easier than others 5’s that I have picked up and struggled on. That said, I’m still a 4 strings and player at heart, so it’s up for sale.
  2. Hi I bought this at the start of the year through this forum, but try as I have, I’m a 4 string kinda guy….so this has to go. That said, this bass plays and sounds so, so good. It’s a 1st generation RSD ME, which has had some changes. The preamp has been changed to a 2 band Glockenlang which allows the bass to also retain a tone control if switched to passive mode. ( sounds killer) The original logo has been switched for the newer Sadowsky Metro Express one (far nicer IMHO). The scratchplate has a carbon wrap on, which could easily be removed and returned to the original white if required. This is a seriously good bass that defies its RSD pedigree, it’s plays so well, the fretwork is great, the build quality is far better than you may expect. If this was a 4 string, it would be going nowhere. On which note, I would welcome a trade for a 4 string version of this, either 1st or second gen, with a cash adjustment if required. Or a Spector Legend Neck Thru. Collection or meet within 1hr of Milton Keynes. Any questions, fire away.
  3. The only Jazz bass you’ll ever need……if I didn’t already have one, I’d snap this up, the Mexican roadworn series are simply awesome instruments, GLWTS. 👍
  4. Hi Woody I used it to beef up the harmonies for a trio with only me singing lead and fairly weak BV’s from the guitarist, worked well for that. That projects now long gone, so this is surplus to requirements, I haven’t replaced it with an alternative. Cheers Steve
  5. Sid popped over to buy a boss limiter from me, nice guy and had a nice chat. Another credit to this fabulous basschat community.
  6. Sold a MarkBass cab to Alex.Nice easy sale, good communication and meet up. Good basschatter, deal with confidence. Steve
  7. Traveller 151p cab. 8Ohm, 400w, good condition, hardly used. Collection from Milton Keynes or reasonable meet up only.
  8. This is a fabulous bass, I bought this through the forum last year and unfortunately have never played it in anger due to having other bases which do exactly the same job. It’s in great condition, with just two tiny dings which cannot be seen while playing and are hard to find. pickup upgraded, which sounds lovely, kiogon loom and sporting a gold scratch plate….also strung with labella flats. it’s a nice weight to at 3.6kg. it’s such a shame I’m not getting the use from this as it’s a truly lovely bass. Prefer collection from Milton Keynes or reasonable meet up. Any questions, please ask.
  9. I’ve sent you a private message Nick. Steve
  10. Here we have my Sire p5 for sale. I bought this from a fellow Basschatter last year but it’s not getting used as I have too many P basses. What can I say about it? It’s a great passive Precision for very little cash Roasted maple neck, rolled fretboard edges, rounds, the back of the dark neck has a tiny visible blemish which you cant feel at all, apart from that it’s pretty much mint. Just looking for what I paid, so at £200 this is priced to sell. Collection or meet up within a reasonable distance of Milton Keynes. Any questions, fire me a message. Cheers
  11. Bass player needed to replace me in a well established long standing Ska & 2Tone band as I have too many projects going on to continue with this one. Members based around Oxfordshire, Northants, Bucks, most gigs in this area. Most gigs are parties, weddings, beer festivals, music festivals, ticket events, not many pub gigs, a few members clubs. Great fun set, Madness, The Specials, Bad Manners, The Beat, Dexys. 6 piece band, with extra brass added for some larger gigs. Average 20–30 gigs last couple of years, mainly Spring to Autumn due to festival and event season. Average player fee between £120-£160 a gig. Most members 50+ but sax in her 20’s so age, or gender is no barrier. A fun outfit, good musicians, not a band that needs to rehearse very often, laid back, well managed and organised. if you want any further details, or to throw your hat into the ring, drop me a pm with your details and I’ll send it through to the guys. Cheers Steve
