Check out: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=250359504382 The poor guy must have payed a fortune for it to start with. So far he's listed it at £1545, £1350 and now £1299. I have pointed out to him you can buy them new for less, and I have exactly the same one from that era that I bought for £1060. His reply was that in 2000 they were rather expensive, and he's not sure if he'll get his money back! (whatever that means) Poor sod. He'll be lucky to get half that, and spend a fortune on ebay fees in the meantime. Anyone else want to (gently) give him a nudge?
Ebay, and its inhabitants, really can be sh!t. Jon.
Yet we all continue to use it (or most of us anyway). Also we put up with ever increasing costs for listing fee, final value fee, reserve fee, paypal fee, air we breath fee etc etc. Anyone fancy starting a rival? Failing that we can sell stuff to each other via a forum or something ;-)

You are now forced to offer Paypal as an option. If you state 'cash on collection only' they will remove it as nowadays Paypal MUST be offered (part of the ebay global takeover policy) He has now relisted as "Payment is by PayPal or cash on collection." Once ebay remove a listing it's as if it never existed. If you look at an item they've listed themselves it will state the reason for them ending early (i.e. no longer available)

The guy who bought it lives in France so he'll be paying a bit for shipping too. Anyone know the French for "what the hell is this?" or "I paid how much?" -
Just to say thanks to Nik for the Status Groove bass. All was excellent including the communication, packaging, and of course an excellent bass for a bargain price. I'd recommend to all! Thanks Again, Stu.

Typical American response really - If you don't agree with with me I'll respond with aggression. Who bet's this guy is no bigger than two inches?

Also I love the certificate for outstanding professionalism! Methinks if ebay get hold of his comments that certificate may be his last!

Great selling technique! It makes me want to part with over £8k immediately. He seems the kind of guy who'd really help you out (as he's shoving it up your a%^e)

I dropped my Warwick Jazzman 5-string a while back - the truss rod ended up slipping within the nut, and the neck was written off. To get the neck replaced, with the set up, was a cool £295 (thank God for insurance). Thus this neck seems quite a bargain. In fact I may bid just in case I drop it again (not really!) They did say however that they wouldn't release the new neck until they had the old one back - there were quite a few counterfeit basses being made up with genuine necks!!! All in all I'd say if you can get it for £40 or so, then go for it if you reckon you can fit it, and set it up properly. Just take care, apparently these necks are easily broken Cheers, Stu.

I used to work in IT, and sometimes used a big mains power tester. It consisted of a hard case with an LED display on it, a few buttons, and a good few wires. I couldn't have made it look more like a suitcase bomb if I tried! I left this on a train at Liverpool Street in London. Luckily I got back there before they blew it up!
I can practice silently with my bass unplugged or using the tascam headphone/mp3 thing I can't see what the problem is that these basses are supposed to solve. Any ideas?
I'm about to release a silent microphone - you can sing into it and nothing happens. Prices start from £99. PS if anyone has any broken mics can they send them to me
Bump before ebay - need to clear these out so make me an offer. Will consider trades for PA equipment (power amp / subs / monitors - don't need mixer), as well as basses and pedals - particularly looking for a compressor like the EBS / Demeter ones, and a thunderbird bass. Cheers Chris
Any chance of postage (particularly on the head). Thanks!

If you want lots of strings why are they playing bass!?!?

Different basses for different sounds. If you want a real rock bass buy a Musicman. If you want a 60's tone buy a Precision. It depends what you're after. If you want a real wood tone, with a fair amount of flexibility get a Warwick. I still know loads of session players who use them - you just don't seem to get people standing at the front of the stage with them! We'll be cool again one day! (and in the meantime I'll use my other basses)
