1. I use a Diago pedalboard which is very durable (should be it weighs quite a bit) They do one that is the size of a guitar case if you've got a lot of pedals but they do custom builds too
2. I bought my Zoot second hand as a way to get an exceptionally well-made bass for little cash. I tried a few Fenders but would never have bought them as they weren't better than my Squier (it had Barts in at the time), the Mex ones weren't as good as the Squier by quite a long shot I buy basses that suit my playing style which look good that i can afford. I'm happy with a nice Jazz or a cheaper Warwick. However i think if i wanted a new Jazz bass i'd give Prosebass a call, certainly looks like he puts more pride into his work than a lot of bigger manufacturers. I've seen a fair bit of cost cutting on Fender stuff and it's put me off the brand. Not acceptable on a £700+ instrument IMO
3. Bought my Owen Bass Gremlin a while back, cool guy to deal with. Sorry for not leaving feedback sooner! If i had as many braincells as pedals i'd be ok...
4. Definitely a golden oldie! I remember having these at school in the music room. Sadly my Amiga 1200 no longer works, so i won't be firing OctaMED up anytime soon. If you can't fit a track on a 3.5" floppy you're overplaying!
5. They were £30 plus £10 postage when i got them (last autumn). Delberthot has one and he likes it so maybe i'm just too picky! They do go horizontal after re-attaching the top half. Otherwise it nods forward which doesn't look safe, especially with a grands worth of bass gear sitting on top of it!
6. How about this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GUITAR-COMBO-AMP-STA...%3A1|240%3A1318 I've got a Giraffe stand, it adjusts (after unbolting the top and fixing it the other way round) so it is horizontal. I used it with my Schroeder 1212r and LMII and it did the job. You do lose a bit of bass from the lack of floor rumble, obviously this varies depending on the stage, however i like feeling the bass that way. I stopped using it, just have the tilted speaker pointing up at me now. I may use it in the future on bigger stages but it's almost redundant now. Also the tilt mechanism is only secured on one side so all the weight is on that which i don't like too much. Another thing to be aware of is the height can only be adjusted by removing two bolts and re-fixing the stand so you have to take the cab off to change the height. Apart from that it's the best one i've found as it's still pretty sturdy.Got it off ebay for £40 delivered but can't see any on there now. It's this one though: http://www.giraffemusicstands.co.uk/?page=...ories&id=41
7.
No but build quality and tone can be..... Cheap basses are great in the bedroom, get them cranked and they sound horrid....and they break, bad pots, bad jacks, bad fretwork, bad necks...bad nut,bad bad bad BAD!! Things have got better in recent years with far eastern made instruments!
The one i tried had the same electrics as my Warwick (although don't think it had the push pull volume and didn't have the stacked eq pots) The only issue i had with mine was the push/pull pot started cutting out (had to retire it for a few weeks). Replaced this and it's been fine since. Have to say it is a battle weary bass, gigged with it at lease once a week (sometimes 3 or 4 if i was depping) and it got left in a case in the van for days. Probably contributed to the pot cutting out! The fit and finish on the Rockbass i tried was very tidy, just didn't get on with the finish on the neck as it didn't feel as nice as the German one
8. I played the active 4 stringer before i bought my Warwick, it sold the German made one to me! Fantastic sound and the neck was really nice (my introduction to Warwick necks too). I bought the German made Warwick because at the time there was a price difference of less than £200 so it was a no-brainer. Keep an eye out on eBay, the German ones go for £300+. I found an German FNA Corvette (one MM pickup) that went for under £280 the other week. EDIT: I found the neck pretty much the same as the German version. Pretty slim 'board but deep yet comfy neck profile. I didn't like my old Warwick 5er (a passive Streamer Standard, percursor to the Rockbass range), the 4 felt right for me. But then i do play like a girl!
9. You might need to rethink the power rating if your guitarist is noisy (sounds like he is if he's got a 150w amp!). 100w bass amps quickly get drowned out. There's usually some decent Ashdown/Hartke/Peavey gear in the for sale forum. It's a good idea to borrow an amp for a rehearsal to see if it can cut the mustard If you can stretch to a little more money then a whole load of better gear becomes available. This would suit ya for £300: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=43654 Got the option of sticking another cab in there too!

Backup amps

I suppose another LMII would be ok, but then i'm much more likely to spend the money on a bass!
11. lemmywinks

Backup amps

I take an MXR M80 and and sometimes an Aphex Aural Exciter. Both have a decent DI and if my amp goes down mid song then there's still bass coming through the PA as the signal is taken straight from my bass. Don't think i could be bothered taking a backup amp to gigs, what's the point in downsizing if you're gonna take 2 rigs? I'm lazy and proud!
12. Sold pending blah blah....
13. This is my Small Clone (EH 4600 Full Chorus), bought from Aphook (i think...) just before i bagged a Stereo Electric Mistress. Lovely chorus pedal for bass, real easy to use too with just one depth switch and a rate knob. Pretty much every sound is at least usable with some really lush chorus sounds. If i hadn't spied the SEM i'd be keeping it! I preferred this to most others in this price barcket as it sounds more natural and is built like a tank It has a few battle scars on the front but functions like a new pedal, just gave it a brief check and everything works. The back is covered in velcro but this will come off. The original rubber feet and battery cover are still with it. Also this comes with a lead to use it (and other pedals with "mini jack" DC sockets) with a regular power supply or power bank, so no worries about powering it. Comes in the original box too! I would like what i gave for it which was £30 delivered.
14. Try to source the Owen Bass Gremlin. Don't think you can get em anymore but they change hands on here for about £70. Very versatile pedals yet really easy to use, the best OD i've heard. Starting to regret selling mine now!
15. My missus' printer is the 2280 so i'll have to pass, cheers anyways dude!
16.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you see "custom" anywhere on an eBay listing just don't bother.
<<<<< Wrong!
17. What an idiot! "I dragged it behind my car, then i set it on fire for a while" Good goin douche!
18. Thanks for the compliments, i like it too . Some nice basses for sale but i'm not sure how many would be up for trading esp. due to the current economic climate. I think that guy in the link wants a P, is a gorgeous Warwick though. Might give him a shout as this Warmoth sounds more P ish than a usual J-type due to the pickup
19. Just to add, no 6ers (or above) please! Might be persuaded by a 5er though Worked this out from the Warmoth site and it comes to $1163 for the parts including shipping (i halved the price of the case because of the missing catch) This ends up as £832 for the new parts so i guess a trade for a bass of similar new value (or more )?
20. I've got beer at home. I've also got a Corvette. I want this one!!! Think i'm just gonna sulk like a petulant child for the rest of the night/week/month
21. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=180335169258 I am probably the most gutted person in the UK right now. My internet connection decided to suddenly slow down as i was placing a bid......... 5 secs too late.... Ah well, didn't need it anyway, probably not as good as i expected, needed the money for other stuff, more to life than buying basses. Gorgeous ones. For less than £300..... Bugger!
22. Horn pointing up for me. I tried it in every configuration and this sounded best to my ears. Prefer this to having it in the "correct" position on a stand as i like my cabs to be on the stage floor (it lost low end and perceivable volume on the stand) Jorg should put the Schroeder badge the right way up!
23. May be interested in the cartridge, just waiting for my missus to confirm her printer model number when she gets in from work
24. I've got the non-backrest version, it's very stable (the best stand i've had by far). I have used the other type and that was good too, but there's no need for the rest. The clamp mechanism broke on mine but it still holds my bass tight (one arm stays shut) It's also the only stand i've had that held my dear departed RD Artist so will work with TBirds and pointy basses
