1. I'd try the ground lift to start with. Also make sure your headphone cable is good quality as are the adaptors going to the di If I was running this rig there is a specific radial stagebug di which is headphone to xlr and 1/4inch I've only used the line 6 really (started off with the original awful irig) and that's straight into my jdi, I now have 3 of them and I'm glad I won't be affected by the lack of a headphone jack on future iPhones. I'll definitely be checking out that di in GarageBand though, didn't know that existed, thanks

4. Is this still available?
5. I believe that's the one I'm borrowing from Happyjack so I look forward to trying it
6. Macclesfield but to play with a Mesa Walkabout Combo and have a coffee I can travel
7. Suppose if you've not got anything better. I'm down London way sometime in November, maybe even a few times so could return it in person and we can have a natter
8. Cheers, will try it out
9. Hi guys, So I've been playing Double Bass now since Happyjack forced one into my grubby mitts a few years ago. I did my first studio session on it yesterday (paid and everything) so it's feeling like I need to give it more care and attention (especially since I'm doing 30+ gigs a year on it). Basically I've been avoiding buying anything for it, I have a Shadow pickup crudely fitted to the bridge, not sure it's even working correctly, I've been running this into my iPad rig for over a year and it's .... meh..... passable So I was wondering, since quite a few of you know me and this is all Happyjack's fault anyway, is would anyone be willing to lend me a double bass preamp? I'll happily pay postage costs etc. ...and yes I know I should have come to the Bass Bass in Derby and I could have tried out everything but this is the problem I have, I play double bass and I don't drive. I just don't know if I should get a new pickup, preamp, mic, mic clamp, db amp (it sounds awful into my Ampeg b100r) but I'm constantly trying to keep it as minimal as possible. So there it is, I fall on your good graces
10. Seeing if I can get transport
11.
Macclesfield
Cool man, me too, we should hang out GLWTS I'm so tempted but trying to stay at 2 basses
12. Thanks for the update I was about to buy it. It did seem a bit basic/typical for a bass pack. Thats the only thing that still isn't top notch on the iOS rig, filters, I pair mine with a phaser to get it sounding how my old 442 red did
13.
About the latency - can you adjust it in Amplitube? I've been leaning towards Tonestack lately as it has the best sounding amps, a decent enough Mutron III and I can set the buffer size to 64 samples which is the lowest I've seen! I have an iPad AIr 2 though, YMMV if using an older iPad. Also, if you are running an app that defaults to a higher latency that you cannot bring down, try putting it in Audiobus, where you can adjust it and the app will then lock to it.
Good point on the buffer size. I've not used Tone Stack for a while. Jamup is definitely behind the game, Bias certainly sounds better than it, I remember Tone Stack being great but limited on Bass stuff. But it's just like how many apps do you max out how many do you get set where the same sound is coming out of them I certainly think I need to make some refinements and I'm not experimenting as much as I'd like
14.
Flux app for iPhone is free at present.............
Literally paid 4 quid for it the other day, gutted
15. For the double bassists http://www.tayste.co.uk/2016/07/29/ios-double-bass/
16. Now available for the iPhone, I basically now only use my iPad for it's bigger screen, all my apps are available to me on the phone.
17. This my old one?
18. I'll be trying one of these when I see one at a local music store. I've got a house full of Sonos equipment and been considering replacing it with a decent Bluetooth speaker (£500) and I like the idea of being able to play my bass through it. My main amp for the past 3 years has been my iPad so I'm keen to give this a try and see how it fits in my setup for playing at home. I thought about trying the similar Line 6 device but that is a company that puts absolutely 0 effort into bass. Well done ashdown for pushing the boundaries 👍
19. Or if I learn my songs and stop having to read them off the ipad I can just use my phone.
20. My next iPad will be the 9.7inch Pro I can hear latency when playing double bass through jamup currently but it's a hella weird setup and I don't know whats latency, feedback or what
