10. None that I can hear. I just wanted my board matching and I had more chrome than brass
11. I've got 20 Brass right angle jacks - All Sold 10 Chrome straight jacks left - 16 Sold 2 brass RCA jacks - Free if you buy all of them (not that useful I know) I want £2 per jack, not per pair per jack so it will be £4 for what you need to make a cable up. If you buy them all I will throw in what ever george l cable I have lying around, it's not much but it'll make a few short patch leads anyway the cable is cheap enough and if you are using the straight ones to make guitar leads (which is more than possible) then you'll be wanting 20ft lengths. Most of the cable gone. All of them would be £94 so lets call that £90 and you get whatever cable I have lying around and the RCA jacks. Since all the right angles are sold I'll accept £40 for all the straight ones or as said previously £2 per jack. So get these solderless jacks for £1 per jack less than new which will seriously add up if your doing a big board.
12.
I'm going through a filter splurge at the moment, buying and selling them until I find the one that's right for 'my sound'! I will put some pics up later... Tonefactor 442 Analogue Filter Harmony Central review This is (I believe) the first version of this pedal modded for bass, originally made for Tayste (FX forum lurker). It's now known as the Boomstick Bottom Feeder. The circuit is based on the DOD 440 which was made popular by Radiohead. It's in good condition, although has velcro on the bottom, in sparkly black with a cool blue LED. It's a very subtle filter and quite different from your Mutrons and Q-Trons, etc., but that makes it very useable live and it sounds good in a full band mix. £65 posted
It's not the first one it was made for me as a replacement to the one I gave Doug Wimbish so it has a bit of history behind it. To me these pedals are the best filters overall on the planet
13. It does do stereo looping as does the Boss DD-20 Very good pedal all round.
14.
a Mutron III, only this time, with dying batteries in it.
Have you simulated that using the burkey yet?
15. Thought as much Would love it but doubt I can afford it, thanks though
16.
For me the squelch is the key to the Mutrons sound. Although the AF-9 is great I don't find it all that squelchy. Higgie correct me if I'm wrong but the Mutron III has an optical element that is now illegal to manufacture, this contributes heavily to that squelch. The HAZ does not have this and therefore does not sound the same.
If it's what I think it is then it's only illegal in Europe, many current pedals have similar componants like the Subdecay Quasar (Phaser) though it is being updated to not include them. They are illegal due to their use of cadmium in them but everyone knows the best pedals are radioactive.
17. Have you boosted the pickle by running the cream pie into it yet? Welcome to a new world
18. FYI those clips were done when I first got it I've got much better sounds out of it since, This can be a super thick fuzz that you can pretty much dial the octaves out and then select how gated you want it, this has become my main drive on my big board cuts a mix like a knife. Works fine with actives or passive, hell it doesn't care what you put into it, the octaves will even track if you put an octaver in front of it, I don't recommend this as small chaildren in the area die but otherwise it's all good.
19. I have space for it now and I'm a tone factor whore
20.
tayste: that is looking sweet. can we get some close ups of the board and the right way round? Are there any pedals which you always leave on? could you Velcro them to the underside of the pedal train to make some more space?
It's not finished yet, once it is there will be a full description full of pics going up, with sound and song samples, there isn't anything that gets left on all the time, it's more of a recording then performance board for some projects I've always wanted to do and got up coming. Cheers
