1.
If you're thinking of breaking it I'd be interested in the body 1st dibs? Cheerz, John
Thanks! I think it might be possible. But before that I'd wait for a deal for the whole bass.
2. Thanks for asking but no, no jazz basses this time!
3. As I recently got several vintage jazz basses I need to come down with the overall number of my basses. So up for sale is my CAR 78/82 Fender Precision. I put this bass together from the original vintage Fender parts I had at home. The neck is 78. One of the best Fender necks I've tried. Truss rod works perfectly, frets are ok. The body is 82. There are also 69 tuners and 69 neck plate installed. The CTS pots and knobs are new. It's an extremely good precision but God sees I have no place to put all those basses. So one of you can get the bass for as low as 1100 EUR = 908 GBP plus shipping. More pics later or on request!
4. Always been a jazz player! There were times I didn't have any of them in my collection but I always felt like without a leg or hand then and quickly got one.
5. Got the bass this morning - wow, what a nice instrument it is! And Jay is a great guy to deal with! PS! All the best for all of you for the year 2012!
6.
Pretty bog standard spec for a Bogart - 2 Bartolini pickups, Noll three band EQ, composite body, 34" scale carbon fibre neck. It's a superb bass - my other two basses are Zons & the Bogart is definately in the same league as them construction & playability-wise. I don't like the Noll preamp as much as the Polyfusion preamps in the Zons, but the Bogart sounds so good in passive mode I never use it anyway.
Hey, why don't you like the Noll preamp? I have one on my Bogart and I love the sound!
7. It's all about a quick attack and the certain low mid frequencies!
8. What's the string spacing at the bridge?
9. I have to agree, he is an extremely nice person and a great player.
10. It all comes up during the recording session. All the nuances in wood choice, scales, nuts, even the pots. Of course, if you play some nasty punk rock it doesn't matter. But for all other styles - well, ask from your sound engineer.
11. I once recorded a local band and their bass payer had a Westone bass. It had a really nice tone, warm, supportive and in the same time kind (in a good way) of agressive. All the frequences were there and it was one of those no-need-for-EQ-tweaking takes. Great basses!
12. Yes, strange finish I have to admit too (doesn't seem so bad in real life) but this bass surpasses my other high end basses both playability and sound wise.
13. A Happy New Year to all of us! I wonder how many Bogart bass owners are there in BassChat? Well, let's count in the Slapper owners as well.
