Great bass preamp/DI pedal with tons of power and flexibility.

Bought new last year and only been used at home, in great condition. Comes with original box.

Collection from Clapham Junction or can post for an extra £5

I've bought a pedal on another site that is collection only, I'll be able to collect it in a few weeks when I'm in that part of the country, but I'm considering requesting that I just arrange a courier on my end. 
Does anyone have suggestions for best places to go for this?

I'm really new to using pedals so I gave the Behringer Octaver a go for the exact reason you mention about giving cheap pedals a go to see if it works. Its actually really good and has now become a regular part of my sound for a lot of songs. So when they become available again, I'm going to get the Boss OC-5. If for any reason I cant get one then I'll probably give the EBS one a go as this gets great reviews as well.

It's a great compressor. Been on my board for almost 3 years now and can't see it leaving any time soon!

Oh perhaps I misread your post, I thought you said octave was the one (out of octave, reverb, chorus) you weren't enjoying as much. 
The OC5 looks great from demoes, yet to try one myself though. Would also recommend checking the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe, they're often available for sale <£90 here/Facebook marketplace etc. They're a really great all-round octaver, compared to the Boss ones which have their own distinct character (which I love personally).

Got a Cali 76 Compact Bass at the start of my board. I love that it has 2 volume controls, 1 for your clean signal and 1 for the compressed signal, so you can blend in the two. 
Also has a high pass filter, so you can apply less compression to your lower frequencies, if needed. 

I'm a fan of trying sounds/gear out with cheaper pedals before you commit to something more pricey, that's what I've always done.
Worth a shot with one of the ones you've mentioned to see if compression is something that you need/want to use. Handy tool to have either way.
You mentioned playing a lot of laid back stuff, I've often heard bassists turning their compressors off for those kinds of songs, as they don't need the sustain etc and want the notes to decay naturally. Depends what works for you

What octave are you using may I ask? I've tried a few over the years, Octron, MXR bass octave.. All ended up being sold except the trusty OC2.

Hi all,

Interested to see what people are using in their racks, whether in a recording/studio setup or a live rig!

I've always had a rack amp unit but no other units and there's a few I may go for in the future, for recording purposes rather than live. 

Update for anyone interested, I've been using the head DI'ed into my interface with no issues. Nice clean signal 👍

Thanks for the reply, mine was built 2006 (checked serial with Ashdown previously). 

I've been reading conflicting answers to this question.. I was considering using my Ashdown ABM EVO II 500 as an on-desk DI option without a cab, however I'm not sure if it's safe to do so. 

Some sources say you can run DI out of solid state amps/hybrid amps without a cab/load box, where as you should not do this for valve amps*
Other sources say that you should not run a head without a cab at all, whether they are solid state, hybrid or tube. 

If anyone has the answer I'd be grateful, thanks

Won't running a 4ohm amp into 8ohm cabs halve the heads output?

There are videos reviewing it, there are videos showing the sounds, but there are no real videos showing how to do anything with it.

Yeah definitely, there's quite a lot of content out there for the C4 synth, by comparison, by both the creators and other users. 
Source Audio put out a 12min video a few months back showing how to download presets and programme your own, I don't believe anything like this exists for the Future Impact. The only demos that exist just showcase the sounds of complete patches, as you say.

 
The manual is great, and this forum is amazing! but even a video briefly going over the sections of the editor, showcasing changes in parameters etc would be really great for new users.
This pedal has been my gateway in synths, programming, and then production in general so a lot of the terminology and concepts were completely new to me, and I bet the same is true for a lot of people buying synth pedals in general.

Learning through trial and error was lots of fun, but a visual resource that shows someone programming in some patches, talking about the basics of each area of the editor and letting the viewer hear the changes would be really useful and make the product more accessible for sure

Remember also that the files themselves are so small that you can easily save multiple setups and quickly load those back in to the pedal.

Do you mean, saving my different types of sounds in different files, and saving them file by file?
IE: first file is loaded into banks 1-10, next file loads into 11-20 and so on? I did consider this but wasn't sure if it'd cause issues when writing to the pedal.

This new manager and global directory is a game changer. For the first time in nearly 3 years of owning the pedal, I finally have 99 banks that I could genuinely use, rather than like, 10-20. 
Would definitely recommend sitting down with the manual for an hour or two and getting to grips with it, opens up so many doors!

My only wish for the manager would be that you could drag a patch to a spot before others, rather than being limited to just moving to a blank tile or swapping patches.
For example ideally, dragging patch 10 to slot 1 would move patches 1-9 down a space.
This would seriously speed up rearrange/organisation of patches, especially as you start to fill up the 99 tiles, it can be hard moving things around if you change your mind on ordering. 

Also some more flexible form of colour coding would be cool. Creating your own categories based on tones/sound/styles rather than just instrument type would be handy visually.

Also, removing the hyphens/apostrophe's from patch names solved the problem, patches written successfully 👍

What you’re describing is something I’ve never seen before in this pedal. I just know what happened to my Manta when I accidentally underpowered it - it went nuts and wiped my presets, messed up the LEDs etc. It was fine after a reset but digital pedals do strange things when they don’t get enough juice. 

No, the glitch (as shown before in my previous photos - glitched text and then no synth audio) happens upon powering up of the pedal. It's only ever happened to me twice. The previous time you helped, and today. I have not changed/added any patches on the pedal since the last time you helped me (it still has the stock 3.6 presets while I build my new 99)
I'm not sure what else could be causing it other than a power issue. Perhaps I'll try to replace this unit, though it wasn't exactly a cheapo power supply and has handy adjustable outputs.

ALSO: The glitch I had previously occurred again today, solved again via Reset All. You suggested it could have been a power blip causing a memory corruption, I wonder if this is true. 

I'm getting communication error messages when the manager/editor tries to upload certain patches, specifically certain ones you've created. Any idea why that might be?
So far it's failed when getting to both the 'Chameleon' and 'Ain't Nobody' patches on different occasions.
