  1. Thanks Greg, i shall digest what you've said. I think there's some nuggets of usefulness there. Many thanks
  2. Sorry going but give!
  3. How are you getting on with the xvive? We find they either interfere with wifi based mixers or we get poor reception in about half the venues? Give over to wired p2 more now
  4. My daughter knew she was dying and specified what she wanted. Bless her she asked for bob Marley's 3 little birds. In our grief the "don't worry about a thing cos every little things going to be alright" was a lovely message to us all.
  5. Great gig at the bank vaults Aberystwyth last night. We're a 5 piece band and the stage is very small so i was overspilling into the main path to the toilets. It sounds rough but it's a lovely little bar where the punters go for the music and really listen. we had a great time. Our regular drummer couldn't make it but the stand in did great after just 2 rehearsals and kept us all on our toes with his radically different approach to each song.
  6. That wooly e string annoys me all the time. I play p basses. I've just gotten used to moving my right hand much closer to the bridge if it sounds muddy
  7. I'd go along with the last post. Our covers band i think it's tight and well rehearsed and there's a lot of banter with each other and the audience. We go down well and get repeat bookings. The only thing we don't do is play stuff that's well known as covers band material or play stuff we don't like. I think if we weren't tight and fun it wouldn't work, but we are and it does!
  8. Two thoughts Have you tried plugging the guitar into the bass amp and vice versa, that should tell you whether it's the guitar or amp. Second thought if it is a single coil guitar pickup if there's more than one switching them both on with a selector switch/blend knob could create a sort of humbucker. My jazz was picking up horrendous buzz from the stage lightning until i turned both pickups up. Sorry if these points have been covered already haven't read the entire thread.
  9. Never more than one pint until the last song is over. If i make a mistake, and there are many, i laugh at myself rather than frown. Looks better and i get over it faster. I always take a backup bass cables and amp. Hardly ever need them but you never know!
  10. Just bought some strings from Paolo, arrived next day, great comms and great deal, many thanks!

  19. I agree tried the one ten, two ten and super midget but the super compact tops all of those. Off to gig with a sc and midget stack now but the midget tweeter will be turned off.
