1. Very nice, I like the way the outboard gear is racked at the back of the desk.
2. Now I've finally got some time for writing again, and have resolved to learn how my DAW and related things actually work, this looks like just the thing to get me doing something... well that's what I thought until I saw the July picture, which seemed very much not up my street. But, you don't learn if you don't try so I had a last minute change of heart and had a go anyway. Unfortunately it turned into a sort of strange latin rock blues thing half way through, but it's better than I expected https://soundcloud.com/adamgx/charangatangorock
3. In the diagram, what's C? I don't care, but I still have to know.
4. What about a PRS HFS? I've got one in an S2 Custom 24 and I really like it, especially with coil tap for more options.
5. I would be looking to borrow something else to put the bass through to see if it still sounds the same, then you know whether you should be looking at fiddling with the amp or the bass. Tricky though, as everything sounds different.
6. Yep, second hand Ibanez RG would get my vote if you're on a budget and you're looking at the kind of guitars you linked to. There will be lots of choice and you would get the same spec and quality for less money or a lot more guitar for the same money.
7.
I've ordered three from these guys and it's always worth it when it gets to your door! What did you order?
It's a Jake 5a+, 35" scale neck. Blue burst, everything else black including the back of the neck and head, apart from the MOP block inlays which I think just brighten it up a bit (always wanted block inlays). I was original wanting a Stringray 5HH in stealth black, then considering a Sandberg before I saw what I could get with a Maruszczyk. This will be my "rock bass" and should have a good range of quality tones (Delano pups and pre, active or passive). Tuners are ultralights and I'm hoping the monorail and 35" scale will make for a really nice big clean tone as well.
8. I'm liking what I'm seeing and hearing on here, the pointy bass is something special and that white 6 string is pretty close to what I'd get if I ordered another bass from them (but with flats on it). I've resisted asking how long mine's going to be, I'm not a great waiter (in either sense of the word, no good at taking soup to tables in restaurants either) but I really get the feeling it will be worth it.
9. Have you got a PCI-E x4 slot free? If you have then you could look at M.2 SSD, it's more bang for your buck. The SATA interface is the bottleneck now for SSD drives. I've got a laptop with M.2 SSD and you pretty much just turn it on, instead of it booting.
10. Oh dear, I seem to have just ordered one of these: The monorail bridge and Y tuners are mainly because I like them, but there is a little bit of me that wants them to make P bass fans twitch Worth calling out that although 95% of the spec was done through the configurator, you can ask them directly for other things as well, so this is coming with a gloss back neck and back/sides of headstock, which you can't choose through the site (and at no extra cost). If you want to know why these (and everything from Thomann, etc etc) is more expensive now than 2 years ago, just check out the chart: http://www.xe.com/cu...&to=EUR&view=2Y - It'll probably get worse, so I'm ignoring it and buying now. For me, I'm paying partly for the quality, but also for speccing out the exact bass I wanted. Bridge Humbucker + split coil + the rest... it's not going to be an easy wait!
11.
PM'ed
Thank ****, I can't afford this bass but I was getting sooo tempted.
12. I'm guessing that this isn't in the UK? So no way for me to try it before buying?

2X18 feedback

Will bought some rack mount bits, and was a pleasure to deal with, good deal and easy to arrange things, and even recommended a nice chippy for me on my way home
15. Postage is included in the price as well now for the remaining 4u rack case.
16. All the accessories are sold now, so there's just the one 4u rack case for sale now.
17. I've edited this down so it's more obvious what's still for sale - a 4u rack case and a few bits.
18. Still got 1 x 4u rack case and the shelf and blanking plates.
19. (NB Some bits have sold so I've edited this down, so it's not £93 any more) (Edited down again, everything now sold except 1 x 4u rack case) I'm selling some almost (competely in some cases) unused rack gear, I was using this in my little home studio but after a bit of buying and selling of rack gear it's all surplus to requirements, so I'm making a huge effort and not just stashing it all for when it might come in handy Just the rack case left now, and I'm including postage in the price as well, or I can or I can drop off near Leeds / Bradford / Keighley / Skipton, or Hebden Bridge - drop me a message and ask. I can throw in some rack screws as well if you need them - just ask for them. Thomann 4u Rack Case one of these: https://www.thomann....ack_case_4u.htm Only ever used at home, had my audio interface & some other bits in. This had a 10mm hole drilled in the top which I've patched from the inside by gluing a piece of plastic over the inside (with 2 part expoxy, so it won't be coming off). £30 inc postage Pics, click for bigger versions:

21. Comfort Strapp, short length 3"-37" (84 - 94cm), so one of the Pro bass ones as described here: http://comfortstrapp...ct-description/ Like new, it has been fitted, used for one rehearsal, taken off and sat on a shelf since. Great straps, I just bought one too short, so someone who wants one of these gets to benefit from my stupidity I can do pictures if needed. £20 including UK 2nd class postage.
22. There are digital amps as well, just an "amp sim pedal" and power amp together. I use a Markbass Multiamp and all 12 amp sims are top quality. There's the Kemper amp thing as well With the DSP tech and software available now, it is definitely possible to emulate any amp perfectly, it's just a question of price. In 10 years time you'll have perfect amp sims on our phones (or whatever's replaced them) - we're not that far off now, I don't have a guitar amp, just amplitube. In the end, if a digital rig outputs the same numbers as an analogue rig, it sounds *exactly* the same.
23.
What are you using for a pedal? The MarkBass one is totally plug and play, but quite limited as to what it can do, as you are limited to 8 buttons, and you have to change modes before you can switch between amps and FX.
I just noticed this question, 4 months later! About par for me I do use the MB pedal, and I like it, it's pretty flexible with a few different modes for switching presets, but yes you do have switch to the patch select mode to turn things on and off - but, you can just have two presets, one with the effect on and one with it off. I use it in "bank" mode, where the right hand 2 buttons go up and down 6 presets at a time and the other 6 select between presets... quite hard to describe, but it gives an easy way to get at all the presets quickly.
