  2. So, I may have a sunburst loaded VI body on it's way.
  3. Price Drop! Also, if you have a Bass VI or Gretsch Baritone, we could work out a deal.
  4. Hmmmm, so the ergonomics are all out of whack? I'm wondering whether the same would be on a bass vi conversion. I mean, logic would dictate probably but I'm not of the technical mind!
  5. Well fender put a jazz body with a strat neck and called it the Sixty-Six!
  6. No, i'm probably gonna get a VI again shortly and probably will keep it a VI (with some upgrades) but if I really thought i could pull off a VI to IV conversion simply and relatively cheaply, i'd eventually give it a go. Replacement Bronco Necks are impossible to find as they dont make replacement short scale necks apparently and dont make squier ones (bought a mustang body, needed a neck, ended up canibalising my Bronco to make a working bass - it was a cool project, ended up with a Mustang with a Telebass pickup and a Jazz Bridge pickup)
  7. Id replace the trem plate with a 4 string one of these: not the prettiest, but should work.
  8. Hi everyone, This is just a hypothetical, i'll probably never get round to it, but I thought it would be a fun idea. Remember the Fender Rascal Bass? Essentially it was a shortscale 4 string bass with a Bass VI body. It came in one colour: green. It had an awful name and it had 3 lipstick pickups (no complaints, but i just think it looked out of place personally). But I have to say, it has some charm for me. They're discontinued now and i cant imagine a reissue will be forthcoming any time soon and unfortunately i never got a chance to try one in person. So here's my thought: Could you turn a Squier Bass VI into a Bass IV/Rascal? You'd get a triple-pickup shortscale bass on/off for each pickup and you could wire the strangle switch to series/parallel First thoughts are you would either need to fill and re-drill the tuner holes OR would something like a bronco bass neck fit? You could get a decent enough pickup set to replace the jaguar pickups, maybe some rail ones to deal with any misalignment of the strings against where pole pieces) You could replace the trem plate with a hardtail one (a few places on Reverb offer them, a custom order shouldn't be to hard to get and this would bypass the trem and stringing options all together). You'd need a new nut, but with the VI's having a 42mm nut, currently, that shouldnt be too hard. The only real issue is the bridge (assuming a replacement neck from a bronco would work). As id need something that fits in the existing hole but was made for a 4-string bass. Any other problems you guys could think of, how easy do you think it would be to do?
  9. I agree to an extent, but the Gibson DC bass is USA made, and is well under a grand, £736 to be exact. Two short scale, USA made basses with single humbuckers (both with options for changing the tone of that humbucker). The fallout does look great and sounds great in the demo video too
  10. Yeah, I was so hyped for this until finding out the price, bring out a Tribute model and I'll be all over it but at that price, it totally killed my GAS
  11. Oh yeah, I forgot to say, feel free to make me an offer.
  12. Got some heavy la Bella flats on there. This is a vista series Musicmaster bass with matching headstock, an actual bass pickup (unlike the original fenders and current bronco basses) AND string through body. There's some cosmetic damage (few chips and dings). But everything is working and playing brilliant. Competition stripe is just a sticker. Between my 2 Mustangs and Gibson and impending bass VI, I've got enough short scale basses to deal with for now, so this and one of the Mustangs have to go. One of these (in surf green) went for £560 on eBay in September (with collection only from bath). posted in UK payment via PayPal gift friends and family please or cash on collection. Questions or if you want more photos, just let me know.
  13. This is just a feeler at the moment. Basically I bought a loaded mim Mustang pj body, replaced the p-pickup and pickguard with the pickup off my pawnshop Mustang and stuck a bronco neck on it (perfect fit, however it did force it a bit which led it a slight crack by the pocket). It's not been wired together well at all and although the selector switch has been upgraded by the previous owner, I did a bad job with the wiring and consequentially it's not always switching correctly. I will say that I freaking love the humbucker in there. Its fat and deep without being muddy and a great compliment to the short scale.
  14. Okay, I'll let this go for 399 collected or 439 posted UK.

  19. That was my thought. I love the Tech21 Leeds on both bass and guitar.
  20. Thanks guys. I don't know why they discontinued them! It does P sounds, it does J sounds, the neck is lightning fast and the wood looks pretty, the nordys are awesome. To be honest, I'd not actually thought about selling it until now as I like it so much but I've got no other way of getting my hands on a Stingray, and I think that's where I want to be at the moment.
  21. So, I'm feeling like it's time to get my first Stingray. Now that means I need to sell a bass and I can't to sell any of the others so it has to be the Ibanez. It's one of these Specifications SR4 5pc Jatoba/Bubinga neck Bubinga top/Mahogany body Rosewood fretboard w/Abalone oval inlay Medium frets Accu-cast B300 bridge Nordstrand CND P/J pickups Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band eq w/Eq bypass switch (passive tone control on treble pot) Black matte hardware I think £sold seems fair and these are discontinued now unfortunately. Tradewise, let me know what you've got I've currently got some GAS for a Baritone guitar or a Bass Vi. I like fender guitar amps too. I love pedals too. I would prefer to meet for a trade so please bare that in mind. I can post for an additional £40 (will usually be a 48hr courier and I always send fully insured). Can be collected from chesham, bucks. Payment via PayPal gift / friends and family preferred but not essential.
  22. Heh. I mean it does do the octave up and the 5th up in a pedalboard friendly package. I just wasn't impressed with how it sounded, however I'd be happy to try it again
  23. I have tried the quint machine once or twice. I thought it sounded passable if you were to put some EQ or drive after it
