What a 5hite video! Couldn't they at least find someone on planet earth who plays bass as their main instrument to review this tasty looking product?

  2. I like all three and if I was completely honest would not vote...but I did, for the BB P pickup.

I think they all sound great but that P pickup tone is just so awesome, it really makes you sit up in your chair.

The thing with the Stingray is that the tone is so easily identifiable and sounds so cool but I really think that the P and PJ tones of the BB are just more useful across more types of music.

Actualy I wish I hadn't watched this video as my GAS is starting to rise again and I thought I had beaten it. Damn.

  3. Hi all,

My second hand Squier CV P bass was supplied fitted with these strings.

They're great and suit me perfectly.

I want to put a set on my Stingray but I've no idea what type/brand they are.

    Any idea anyone?

    P.s. the seller didn't know either 🙂

  4. Yet another glowing recommendation for Jason from me.

Bought his lovely Ray34, exactly as described, came out to meet me to hand it over and was a true gent when I ran into electronic problems trying to transfer the funds over.

    Deal with confidence!

  5. Lively gig on Saturday night. The venue was absolutely packed and dancefloor was packed from the first song till the last which makes it all worth it. I was nursing a sore ankle all night so unable to move around and dance like a nutter so the lads kindly obliged...

  6. I find it quite extraordinary how polarising BD and its proprietor is!

I have visited there twice and found Mark to be quite friendly if a bit forthright.

It seems once they've sorted the website and online sales out things should improve but the attitude and customer service issues will surely continue unless another viable company starts to pose a serious threat?

  7. What a lovely collection!

I too went gear-crazy under lockdown but now I've managed to reduce my collection from 7 down to 2 but I can feel the GAS rising again now gigs are happening again. Weird!

My faves in your pic are the Ric, G&L and the Stingray. I've GASed for all of these at one point or another over the years.

I have the Boss WL 50 which is the WL20 receiver plus a pedal size transmitter which will charge the receiver and also has a cable emulator switch which helps with active basses. Really impressed with it for the price. Never had any issues.

    Me too.

Played a handful of gigs with it and very impressed.

I salute that intention my fellow Brummie bass player! I'll see if I can follow in your footsteps in 2022!

Are you in a band btw?

Yes I am thankfully but the set demands my P bass and nothing more. So that's what I've settled for alongside the TRB. I reckon that other than fretless I should have all bases covered with these 2. Logical or what? Will it hold into 2022?

Given you've now had at least 4 different BB models and still have the rather splendid TRB5, I've not completely whitewashed (or whatever the appropriate non-offensive term is these days!) you from the wall, for old times' sake (not that I'm saying you're 'old' btw). Being GAS-free is a wonderful thing, right? I mean being able to focus on actually using our gear and becoming better bass players, rather than being on the never ending tone quest for something only we're going to notice, has got lots of plusses!

That's the theory, I'm tying it in with a new year's resolution to live clutter-free and concentrate on the things that matter like practice and making music.... 🤞

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    And for @andy67....

Some bassists have more, some have less, of course.

Other than that, there's no way just one or two or even three would work for me.

The last two are expendable...very nice basses, but..

(Just sold my Epiphone Thunderbird Vintage Pro last Sunday to someone who'll play it every day. Better than sitting in a gig bag, right?)

Always fancied trying a Reverend bass....

I seem to remember that you were going to use the silver Squier Jazz as a 'beater' bass or am I thinking of someone else?
