  1. I use these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jim-Dunlop-426P-60-Triangle-Player/dp/B00373GYW0/ref=sr_1_13?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1459979151&sr=1-13&keywords=Ultex+tri Bigger than a guitar pick so easier to hold onto! I hold them as i would a pen, more or less.
  2. I use a Comfort Strapp and think its great. I bought it as I have a ridiculously heavy bass and needed a wide, padded strap as my usual cheapo jobby just wasn't up to the job. It came to a choice of it or the MONO and I've got no regrets about my choice.
  3. Don't know where you're based(!) But I have an Ibanez RD605 for sale, string spacing is wider than an sr so too wide for me.neck is a bit of a hybrid too, thicker at the nut and thinner at 12th fret. Pm me if you're interested. Im in Northern Lincolnshire btw.
  4. Have you still got this for sale? I'm only up the road!
  5. Hi folks, I've got about £450 to spend on a new bass and whats doing it for me at the minute tone wise is an Ibanez CT 5 string I took the pre amp out of and wired up passive with decent pots and shielding. Might also be worth noting that the pickups are decent, EMG's according to the catalogue. So I wondered if anyone's got any suggestions for a Jazz ish (2 single coils) bass that would fit the bill? Used is preferable, (I don't mind waiting for something to come up) and then I feel less guilty about deforesting the planet! I don't mind what it says on the headstock, but I've always been a bit underwhelmed by Fenders so maybe more along the lines of Jazz clones or alternatives? Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
  6. +1 For "try before you buy". I've got several Ibanez sr's though and can vouch for the quality of the premium range. The 5 string necks are a joy and ultra stable with the kts rods.If you're after growl, the more maple the better!
  7. I find Warwick necks a handfull. I've got several Ibanez' including a 25th anniversary sr and I love 'em all. Every time I pick up my Warwick it feels like hard work in comparison. You really need to try both IMHO. Oh and the Nordy big singles are amazzing! ;-)
  8. What Bassace said! And you can do it online too, I'm employed full time but declare income from weekend jobs etc. It takes all of 10 mins to do, just make sure you have your P60 handy! Assuming you work full time and earn over you tax free allowance it basically boils down to 2 boxes, income and expenditure. You pay tax at 20% on the difference. Personally I work on the theory if you give the tax man something, it'll keep him happy and off your case! ;-)
  9. I've come un-stuck with this a couple of times. Spent so much time sorting out what's wrong from what's right that it ended up taking longer than just working it out by ear. The same goes for TAB. What I do now is chart out the song first. Sort out the structure and any cheeky 2/4 bars etc. and find a root for each bar. Once I've done that I find it's easier to work out riffs because it conforms to the root.

    Feedback for SgtD

It's taken me an age to work out how to do this! Bought an Ibanez Sr705 from Chris a week or two ago, top bloke! Couldn't have been better. Sat down, had a play and left very happy with my new bass!
  11. Hi, is this still for sale?
