  1. Absolutely nothing wrong with my TecAmp Puma 500. It sounds great, has never let me down, suits the gigs I play (or played) and is nice and light. So why am I gassing for a new amp? 🤔
  2. is this gonna be like Triggers broom? The original bass has it's neck and body replaced? 🤣
  3. That, is a matter of opinion...
  4. No, but I don't know why not. Confused now! 🤣
  5. thinking about it, I'm not sure I've ever had a neckthrough 🤔
  6. Use a multi fx with a volume pedal. More to carry overall, but it won't be around your neck when you're playing
  7. In which case a Behringer V Amp Pro and a Behringer FCB1010 MIDI Foot Controller, would more than do the job.
  8. Why have knobs at all? Wire the pup directly to the output. No tone controls or volume controls needed.
  9. For most gigs there was no going through the PA. The rare occasion I did, true. A DI preamp and fx pedals would not be my first choice, but happy to sacrifice some of 'my sound' for convenience. It's not like the audience knew the difference or cared 🤣
  10. Digitech BP355 Less than £100 on the 'bay. Utter bargain. I still use mine. https://www.digitech.com/discontinued-products/BP355-.html
  11. whereas I'm the opposite, I want my sound to come from my amp which is why my none of my custom basses have tone controls. More through luck than judgement, I happened on the combination of a Tecamp Puma 500 and customised Tecamp 2x12 which have given me the perfect sound for the bands I have played in. IMO of course.
  12. i wonder what they look like now?
  13. Slight (ok large) tangent, David Niven often got acting roles over bigger names, because he was easier to work with.
  14. Must have been resolved because he made a few appearances with the band years later.
  15. He's the reason there are no live Bon Jovi albums from the SWW and NJ tours. Not because of his playing, but because that would have meant less money going to the rest of the band.
  16. Hope you got double bubble!
  17. Paging @xilddx
  18. Flattley bass poison ivy.
  19. It all depends on what you want from a fuzz / distortion / overdrive. Personally I bought my fuzz pedal because it has the best blend I've heard. IMO obviously.
  20. It was a while before I realized The Jam were not singing about 'eating trifles'.
  21. The Hail Mary. Blessed art thou among swimming. For some reason I never questioned this. That's the problem learning religion by rote.
  22. Boss SYB-5 EHX Bass Mono Synth But the best of the lot IMO Digitech Bass Synth Wah.
  23. I'm loving the all in one pup cover/ramp/thumb rest. I've got a similar thing going on, with my Shukers.
  24. What's the neck like? Is it close to a P or have Charvel kept to their slim shred profile?
  25. It's not about technical ability, it's his note choices and phrasing, and often melodic basslines which could define the harmony.
