1.
It might seem a bit strange that someone who likes 7 strings also likes the 1 string as well
have you ever gigged the 1 string?
 2.
I've got a pair of Mission 750 LE / SE in cherry that I'd be happy to let go for £70. I dont think you'd find a better speaker at the price and they'll cover your outlined needs. I replaced them with some Quad 12L2's
thanks, but the Samson's are doing the job.
 3.
Cheers McD. I thought you were volunteering to "go round with the boys" at first. Will try GBH.

To be honest, he is my "go to" guy for stuff, so hope ll is OK...
me too.
 4.
I'd like to think that if they did have 'ringers' playing on their albums, it would have come to light by now like the whole Frankie / Blockheads deal.
thought it had? It's no secret now, that Roger didn't play drums on the first album.
 5. I'm just going by what's in his book. He says he didn't know whether they were gonna be the lines on the album, or if JT would copy them. Either way JT didn't write them.
 6.
I have only dealt with the Bass Merchant once...and I had pretty much the same experience. No chance of a reply via email, and a pain to get hold of by phone. Wasn't there someone called Jeff/Geoff who worked with Mike and who posted at this forum? I seem to remember getting a pm from him about my problem...but that might have been on the old bassworld site. paul.
GBH
 7.
Martin Kemp rumour I can believe....not JT though.
Guy Pratt did the Powerstation bass lines. And don't forget hush money was paid because Roger Taylor didn't(couldn't?) play drums on the first album.
 8. bu993r! It's a good job I've just seen this now, and it's been sold
 9. well I eventually got the 65A's. Nice and loud, and cope with the low B's so no problem there. Any recommendations on settings for the mid presence control, especially when trying to figure out bass lines, would be muchly appreciated! cheers.
 10. give Mike a call at the Bass Merchant in Witham. Knows his onions about Tech Sound Systems he does, and he's a good bloke.
 11.
This one.... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=4307 This is a beautiful bass, in immaculate condition, with a stunningly powerful sound, it is a luthier built boutique instrument that is a joy to behold. I bought it recently for £450 which is an absolute steal, but it is not for me, I am used to slimmer necks (Warwick Dolphins) so am looking for an interesting trade, what have you guys got. Cheers and happy new year to all
just about to pm.
 12. so here's the neck, I think it's a nice combination, usually the inverse but Jon reckons it will look cracking on the dark body.
 13. Been a bit quiet over the holiday period, but the current state of play is the neck has been glued up and pics will be sent once the clamps are off.
 14.
More than Sid did then
bugger! beat me to that one
 15. like that one, I do. As someone posted earlier quality porn
 16.
From a counting point of view, 6/4 = 4/4+2/4 but they are NOT necessarily the same; 2/4+2/4 =4/4 but likewise, they're NOT necessarily the same in terms of strong/weak accents and/or rhythmic intent....Good luck with the reading. .
what I was gonna say.
 17. cheers guys, but I've already got something that can slow down, cut sections, etc. Hopefully as Dazzlovski says, I can get re-booted.
 18. matches and wood glue, is what I do.
 19. I like. What's the neck like?
 20. sorry guys, I think it sounds terrible!
 21.
Maybe you don't like the numbers. I learn the interesting stuff in 2 mins but numbers I really don't like take weeks!
i take your point, but I do like the band and think the music is great.
 22. my musical ear that is. I've been playing a fair few years now, and have never had problems listening to stuff from CDs (etc) and working it out, but lately I've been checking out bands and learning stuff for auditions and it is such a struggle. I spent a hour trying to figure out, what turned out to be a simple 4 note fill. Maybe it's because I haven't been in a band for a while, and haven't gigged since July? Whatever it is, it's annoying and frustrating
 23. Not sure if this will throw a spanner in the works, but I'd be grateful for some advice. This is my rig, it's a 2x10 combo on top, and a 2x12 cab underneath. Thing is in both, the speakers are wrapped, so one is at the front, and the other is angled behind it. Would the same advice still hold for this arrangement?
 24.
Very nice! I remember it from the South East Bash in August... Uber light IIRC?
and fits nicely in the boot of my car (a saloon)
