  1. Gibson Ripper Bass in Ebony finish

A well gigged punk machine showing every cymbal mark, buckle rash and hours of gigging splendour! This is not a case queen. Plays and sounds great and all works as it should. Currently strung with flats.

Comes with non original but very good case.

For sale on my website but Basschatters can get up to 10% discount on here as discussed with the team behind the scenes!

I’m not a big ‘shop’, more a collector with a side hustle.

    www.thebassmonkey.co.uk

Shipping worldwide is possible too but U.K. will be using my super safe and reliable man with a van. Anyone is welcome to come and try in my home studio anytime.

Please DM me for more info required.

    UK Shipping included in price.

Thanks. It is a lovely thing. I'm usually wary of critiquing prices on forums, but I do admit I said the word "whopping", I'll hold my hand up there. But also said "that someone has confidence in the direction of travel on prices for vintage basses". In this respect I agree, I see these things going only in one direction at the moment, and my own vintage guitars are out-performing any money I have in the bank by a country mile that's for sure.

Yeah it’s a subject that can always go either way and it wasn’t a dig at you mate but some others should know better 🙄

I agree cash in the bank is doing nothing and basses are a decent way/ investment to keep cash moving upwards but more to the point keeping them being used and loved. I play every bass I have and none are stashed under the bed. I’m a collector who sells stuff as are most bassists to be fair😂 I just don’t hide my side hustle, that’s all.

Anyway dude enjoy your killer P bass 🤘

What a totally ridiculous price for a 1970 P in this condition.

I doubt this one is for the collectors as they tend to go for as mint and complete as possible afaik.

As someone else ( a dealer ) who does the very same thing I do, as a side hustle business on Reverb etc..., thats a little rich mate. Prices are what they are, if it doesn't sell then maybe you're right. Yeah it needed some work and its not a case queen. Its a damn fine bass and more of an investment for me and if it sells then great, if not I have a lovely P bass. Anyway @ossyrocksyou have a damn fine bass there and i'm sure the price you paid is irrelevant to everyone bar yourself.

  4. Well apparently now according to Mark at Bass Direct they are in production now 🤷‍♂️ And obviously not due any day now as stated in his email 15th Feb and also ‘in stock’ on their website when they took the cash on 1st Dec 😬🤔 Me thinks they not telling the truth

I think i have the answer.

Trying holding your index finger between your thumb and middle finger and use that as a pick haha 😄

    I'm just being daft btw

Not as stupid as that sounds as it’s something I used to do, kinda. Always finger player and could never use a pic but mimicking the holding of the plec id use my index finger/nail as the plec. Worked a treat but obviously not every song just now and again if needed. All the time would result in a bloody stump 😂

That bridge is hideous, I hope you're going to do the right thing

Ha ha yeah needs the right one back on for sure. Was unplayed for 7 years, took it out of the case, still in tune and fired right up. Its delish

  7. Added this to my collection yesterday. An almost unplayed and all original bar the bridge 4001 in Burgundyglo ( original bridge also came with it ).

    What an absolute machine 😍

    I think I’m in love ❤️

On a separate matter to the one I mentioned above, I paid for a case 3 weeks ago that I was told would arrive in 2 weeks, and when I emailed a few days ago (as I'd obviously heard nothing from them) I was told it will be another 4 weeks. The LEAST they could have done is told me. Refund now requested.

Best not turn this into another thread about issues with BD - the last one got locked for absolutely no reason at all, I'd guess certain people have certain interests that such threads can be awkward for. 🤔

Yeah I’ve had same with DV24/7 with 2 cases and strings too. That was 1st Feb too and next day delivery

No real point emailing them to make sure either... I did this a few weeks back, was told they 100% absolutely had it, so I paid, then I got an email in the morning saying they didn't have it. 😖

Yup I’ve had emails saying it’s due any day over the last 4 weeks. Last week apparently the order is now packed….in th USA

  10. Selling my Barefaced Big Twin 2 that I bought from Matt on here - link to his ad below.

It’s absolutely immaculate and only been used at home by myself.

Using my Ampeg gear mainly atm so it’s sitting being unused. Comes with cover and I can ship with my man with a van anywhere in U.K. for about £60.

    No trades.
