1. all made by yamaha: urea nut, ivory color four string fender-style bridge - GONE single stack j-pickup, bridge position - GONE all of these were taken off of my bass when i upgraded, and i've got no use for them. i'm keeping the p-pickup that had come off of it for now, but if you really want it i could probably part with it. is only the counterpart to the j. None of these parts are amazing but if anyone has got some sort of experimental or project thing they don't want to really invest anything in yet, these do the basic function. pickup from cambridge, as i've no idea when i'd get a chance to ship
2. Yamaha RBX170 with a Lindy Fralin p-pup, Seymour Duncan STK-J2 j-pup, LQ Badass II bridge, Graph-Tech nut, and fully shielded with custom-built passive electronics.
3.
I only really notice the dull sound on my E string, and I wont go stright into swapping the valve just yet, but it was more of a general query. Could swapping the valve give me more gain, a clearer sound, different tone depending on what tube I replace the stock one with?
the short answer is that yes, it could. however, to what degree of success depends on the valve chosen and even perhaps the particular circuit topology of the amp. Basically, there is really not one simple, solid answer. for this situation, i would say the same thing everyone else has; to try everything else first, including EQ, etc. and if that doesn't work get in touch with ashdown for advice.
4. what about the TC Electronic ND-1?
5. hey all- new here, just joined a few days ago but loving what i've seen so far onto the topic, does anyone know of a place in the UK where i can get firewire strings? only one place i've found, stringbusters, and they're currently out of stock. i'm hesitant to order them off ebay all the way from canada, but that seems like it might be the only option. i would wait, but i really need new strings atm and i'm also impatient! haha and before anyone can say anything, yes, i know there are other strings out there that are very good as well, but really, i've been wanting to give these a go for some months now but, if there's a string out there i don't know about that's strong, moderately bright, long lasting and under 25, i'm all ears!
