1. Wish i could get one of those 21012's to replace my 1212L. As for Schroeder's not being mentioned much on here, they are quite difficult to get hold of new. Back when i got my first 1210R i had to order it direct from Jorg. The current 1212L came from SHX music, which is no longer going i believe. I cant think of many places that stock them. Agree about the mid hump though. It drives me crazy BUT it does get me heard no matter where i play, and outfront that mid hump isnt a bad as it is close up. Still looking to replace it, but so far.......
2. Not yet, but it's on the cards.
3.
Nice bass! Welcome to P-land! I couldn't quite understand what you meant here. Do you mean that the Squier CV P pickups are placed differently or have a different profile so can't rest your thumb on them, whereas the fender pickups are different shape or position somehow which means you can do it?
The 50s CVP has a different pup to the 60's CVP.
4. This looks gorgeous, especially the neck. Ive gone back and forth between P bass for the past 12 years. Sometimes i find them boring but i also love the simplicity of them. If they came with jazz size necks as standard (i mean all, know a few do) id have a lot more basses than i need.
5. Having sold mine last week i actually think i made the wrong choice, at least as far as going back to my 1212L. GLWTS Jenny, it wont hang around long.
6. The 60B can also be powered via the USB port. Saves an extra plug and means you can leave the lead plugged in.
7.
The issues are highlighted when a decent brand shifts production to the far east (like Eden). Cheap components can ruin a hard earned reputation, especially when the price doesn't change.
Yep, CAN being the operative word though.
8.
Or you could have a pedal assembled in the Far East.........?
End result for the user would be the same so yeah, If it cost less I'm all for that. I do appreciate why the small companies have to charge more, but I feel most of that is for parts and labour, not for better quality that most people can benefit from in the real world. Saying that, I'm not against paying more for something I really want, but I don't always feel I get my money's worth.
9. Cant wait until Behringer bring out a more affordable alternative ;-)
10.
I bet if the Darkglass compressor was in a rack unit (for only pennies more metal in the casing) people would be thinking £200 was a bargain. The DG, the Cali, the Empress really are rack units shrunk into pedal format. Making it safe to step on seems to make it have less value for some reason.
IMO those cases that DG use are very cheap to buy, so to be give the impression of cheapness. The look and feel of my DG VMTD was the only issue i had with it.
11. Id say its a case of fools are easily parted with their money sometimes. We convince ourselves that paying a lot gets us a lot, and if its not mainstream then its even better. Basses and FX (well, comps and overdrives anyway) spring to mind here. You just need to look at all the high end gear that's re sold on here to see that paying more doesn't necessarily get you better.
12. Are you sure it's the amp and not the speaker?
13.
Just returned mine to Thomann. Just didn't get on with it. Seemed under-powered, Will continue with the TH500 for the time being.
Thanks Dave. Your not the first person to say this. Since i posted that comment ive got a VTBass DI and over the moon with it, so it, along with my MB F1 head stays. Sold the Darkglass as well.
14. Yep, i messed up lol. Right. The RT10 has been sold, might try a Barefaced BB2 next. Ive had 4 gigs come in this week (not for this week) so it looks like ill still have a reason to get a new cab.
15. The cab has now sold, so this thread can be closed if the mods so desire. Thanks all.
16.
I have this if it is of any use. http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2777497 I think it will fit a 410 deep amp.
Thanks Paul but the one below is exactly what im looking for. GLWTS
2U 420mm rack bag: http://www.flightcas...added-5367-6631 3U version: http://www.flightcas...added-5368-7430
These are perfect, thanks very much for the links. I owe you one :-) 3U ordered, job done.
17. Thanks. It can be converted to a 12ohm easily enough, although I dont know how much BF charge for the kit.
18. Yeah, no rush now, although I'd still like to get away from the 1212L sooner rather than later. It's like Groundhog Day when it comes to cabs, I keep going back to the 1212L even though I don't want to.
19.
It is a brilliant cab! I love mine. Sorry it didn't suit your needs Dave
Im glad i tried. If i didnt have another cab to fall back on i think i would have kept it, but with the 1212L still sitting here selling the BF is the right thing to do right now. Im out of the 30 day trial period, so i think this is the only option. I did email BF to explain things, even asked about trading it back and getting a different cab from them, but they didnt offer to take it back.Thats fine though, they are under no obligation to do so.
20. Id rather not post just yet, its just easier if i can get a local buyer. If nothing happens in the next week or so ill consider posting, i have all the packaging, but the buyer will need to make all the arrangements as far as that goes. Ill drop the price slightly of course. For now though, pick up only.
21. Unfortunately i dont think this was the right cab for me. Its exactly as Alex describes it on his website, and on paper i thought it would be a good choice, but im missing the more modern tones im used to. Ive given it 3 rehearsals and while i get some great tones out of it i dont think its going to be right for the more up to date songs we intend to start doing. I did get a VTBass DI to add some sparkle and this has worked a treat, i love this preamp, but at the end of the day im going back to what i know for now and re evaluate. I still want shot of the 1212L but It doesn't help that my guitarist is quitting after the next gig, so i might not even need a cab after that.
22. Thanks, Indeed it is. Its the best cab ive played through for a long time, especially with my VTbass going in to it, but i just keep going back to my 1212L for some reason, even though its not that great lol. Probably try a BF again soon though.
23. I got this cab new from BF at the beginning of Aug this year. Its a lovely cab and sounds exactly as the website says. Unfortunately its just not for me. I need something with more sparkle..i think. The low end is amazing on this cab, very solid and clear, but its a bit too much for me. Its only been used at a few rehearsals, and so is in great condition (the flash used makes it look a bit grubby though). It also comes with a ROQSOLID cover. This wraps around the whole cab so helps keep some of the underneath clean as well. I paid £479 for the cab (this included postage) and £61 for the cover. Looking for £420 ONO and pick up only from central london. Appreciate this is a bit high but the cover wasnt cheap, and i need to sell it along with the cab. 24.
Well we're planning another little get together when Ewan's new ACG arrives in a month or so, you should join us this time
I expect i will have sold my RT10 by then :-(. Had another rehearsal last night, this time with the VTBass as well to liven things up, and it sounded much better, but this got me thinking that im now forcing the cab to produce a brighter tone, which my 1212L already did. Love the cab for what it does to the low end, and on a lot of songs its just perfect, but i think ill need to go back to my 1212L for a while and re evaluate things. I'd love to stick with Barefaced though and i expect a SC will be on the cards later.
25. Not sure. Ive never looked on ebay. I might have to as a last resort though. As i said above, the only issue is the depth of the amp. Most cases/bags wont accommodate this amp. Cheers.
