  1. Tuesday 1st June - David Lynch: The Art Life (2016) Fascinating documentary with incidental music by the man himself, thoroughly absorbing.
  2. Totally agree… John McGeoch Keith Levene Geordie Lou Edmonds …are there any other guitar players? PiL have had three of ‘em!
  3. Agreed. I always think it's on JuJu, my favourite Banshees album (actually, one of my favourite albums full stop) but it's a stand alone single, not on an album.
  4. Crack?
  5. Indeed, Hiwatt head, Marshall 4x12 with Speaker cone pierced by a screwdriver, you aren’t going to replicate that with FX.
  6. ...and I've just realised I put it on the wrong thread!
  7. Unlike the rest I never met Youth, he did however once hand me a flyer at a Fad Gadget show at The Venue in Victoria. I dread to think how long ago that was.
  8. Check out the bass lines on Bête Noire, a Bryan Ferry solo album rather than Roxy, superb album with cracking bass.
  9. ☝☝☝This, all day long. JJ kind of knocked everyone else into a cocked hat (apart from Mick Karn). Those first two notes, I want to give up bass and collect stamps as soon as I hear them.
  10. Jaz would describe them as Punk, Paul Raven used to describe them as Post-Punk, Geordie looked aloof whilst smoking menthol cigarettes and Big Paul agreed with Raven.
  11. Sleaford Mods Gillian Welch Mike Doughty Cake The Hut People
  12. It doesn’t take a lot to buckle my muff.
  13. She's taking the peas.
  14. I am considering... Grant Bail Drew Breath Tim Bucktoo Stew D'Apples Art Gallery Doug Graves Frank Ingmachine Norman Invasion Robin Istheft Marshall Law Cliff Lift Lou Ming Reed Mumsnet Clay Pipe Dïck Tate Gene Therapy Bob Upandown
  15. Indeed and this was true at every Bass Bash I’ve been to.
  16. I remember a band called Heist with two bass players, as mentioned briefly in the post above but I can’t find anything about them online!
  17. People do play each other’s basses, it’s one of the best parts about the events. I keep an eye out for such things as I have a couple of basses I’d like to keep in good nick but no one I’ve ever encountered has had a belt buckle on. Perhaps, as bass players, we realise this and don’t wear such things to Bashes
  18. Of course, although the one I have now isn't the one I got from you, I regretted selling it the minute I sold it!
  19. I've got one of these, most fun you can have without a pipe stuffed with crack.
