1. For me I would say Billy Sheehan, undoubtedly a fantastic technical player but after trying (and I mean really trying!) to get into his music I just dont get it sometimes. Its either a little restrained or completely overkill. But hey I'm a huge fan of Geddy so guess this is all opinion.
2. Do you have any other in depth pictures?
3. Hi everyone I am looking to mod up a 96 Squire p bass. I want to change the pickups but the circuit in the bass at the moment is a little weak. What would people recommend as a good all round P bass pickup-circuit Combo? I tried the EMG active pickups but didnt find them too amazing, does this indicate that the bass itself is not worth it? All input would be great, Thanks
4. Is this a jazz bass neck or a P-bass neck? many thanks
5. Bought a Fender Bass VI off Dunc. An extremely smooth process and very helpful. Would certainly buy again.
6. New photos have been put up showing the bass in a bit more detail
7. Thanks for the comment, If this sells then it means that I dont have to work during term (Which I dont really mind) but is preferential. However, I might not be able to resist a cool bass. In conclusions I'm definately up for trades with or without an extra bit of cash. Hope this clears it up but thank you for responding, Tom
8. Price: £650 + £10 shipping 'Reduced' This is my Fender Geddy Lee Jazz bass produced in Japan with quite extensive upgrades. It is an absolute beast of a bass but I'm having trouble funding Uni fees at the moment so have to see something go. Features of this bass are: -John East Retro Pre amp- Installed -Seymour Duncan Quarter pounder pickups (Neck and Bridge) - Badass Bridge (With filed saddles) -build quality of Fender Japan. - The Thinnest jazz bass neck I have every played (What the geddy lee is known for) The condition of the bass is very good, however there are belt marks on the back of the bass, a scratch on the front of the bass (shown in Pictures) and for complete transparency this bass (from what I was told from the previous owner) had a factory problem upon production so the last three numbers on the serial number have been dremeled out and there is a very light 'Used' stamp on the rear of the headstock. From what I gathered online this meant that there was a electronic problem which was identified after production so once replaced the original serial number had to be replaced The Bass is completely functional now. I believe at some point there was a stick on serial number but it must have fallen off. Please understand that I am not trying to pull any funny business and this is indeed an authentic fender bass, please check my feedback. The Bass comes with a soft case but am willing to include the hard case for another £50. Will be posted through Interparcel. Many thanks, Tom Trades wise: Active bass with Jazz bass neck, But I absoluptely adore jazz basses so open to all offers.
9. I had a listen yesterday and something stuck with me. I kept thinking that the tracks seemed to 'full' particularly in terms of bass. I couldnt focus upon anything in particular. I know this is a bit of a weird criticism but it just made it hard to really hook into any particular thing. I still enjoyed 'Dark Necessities' and 'Sick Love' as they seemed more focused but I generaly feel that most of the tracks ought to head somewhere (A La danny californias crazy ending) but never really had a payoff. I know that you shouldnt compare a band to their past material but I was a little undewhelmed, especially as I really enjoyed I'm with you past 'look around'. Wonder if anyone else has my trouble.
10. Hi everyone, I am looking for a string mute for my jazz bass which can be deployed easily, rather than the traditional "shove some foam" method as I need it to be deployable rather quickly for that great thud sound. I see that on the Fender Custom Shop Sean Hurley signature: http://www.fendercustomshop.com//series/artist/sean-hurley-signature-1961-precision-bass-rosewood-fingerboard-faded-3-color-sunburst/ there is a little metal plate that deploys the mute. Does anyone know whether these can be purchased separately and how easy/hard they are to install. many thanks, Tom
11. Hi James. It's no problem I understand that it is an important factor. Unfortunately I do not have scale with me at the moment, However, I have been comparing it to my Mexican Jazz Deluxe which weights 9 pounds (4kg) and the jbr-80 seems of similar weight, maybe a hair lighter due to the slightly thinner body. Sorry that this is not as specific as it could be. Many thanks, Tom
12. Hi, I am currently in Egham, Surrey, but in about 3 weeks I am moving back to the brighton area.
