1. Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words. These basses really are very special to me and especially so as my friends at Overwater take my ideas and make them work! We've got a lot going on down at OW HQ - take a look at the latest email. If you haven't already, why not sign up? I've owned and played more OW's than I care to remember (in a good way....) - this sounds great and firmly cements my love for bolt on basses! Any of my basses are open for audtion - if anyone is ever up at OW HQ just let the guys know and I'll drop my basses off. Stu
4.
Wish I'd have played it on Bass Day but I'm sticking with my if you don't touch another Overwater you won't buy another Overwater rule
I think people thought it was on the endangered species list and left it alone. Next time you're in town you'll have to have a play.... and fill in an order sheet
5.
Loving the white one Stu - great to see you back too.
Thanks mate... it has been a while! And to think 18 months ago I was faced with the prospect of selling everything
6.
All look lovely, but the middle one in particular (sorry, not sure of the model) is an absolute beauty.
Overwater J5 Fretless - Trans black, Figured Maple on Mahogany It's a great bass and the best bit is my brother made that one when he worked for OW
7. As I've just received my latest Overwater I thought I'd show them all off together. Enjoy!
8.
Ye gods, Stu... that holly looks incredible! A monster of a bass there. In a good way, of course!
I think we need to meet up and you can try her out
9. Hi, I thought I'd share a few pictures of my latest bass - an Overwater Evolution 6. It's been in the 'works' for a while and I decided not to post a build diary as I was in no rush. It's a simple beast, but sounds amazing. It features a rather rare Holly top that has no visible grain pattern which gives the impression of a painted finish - you have to look very closely to see slight wood characteristics. The holly is matched with a Walnut body and a black veneer. The full spec is below. It's a welcome additional to my bass family and I'd like to thank my good friends at OW for their patience, experience and workmanship. Overwater Evolution 6 Body: Walnut Top: Holly Neck: 3 Piece Maple Fretboard: Ebony Bridge: Hipshot Style A (brass) Machineheads: Hipshot Ultralite Y Key Pick Ups: Nordstrand Fat Stacks Preamp: OW3 Band EQ String Spacing: 19mm at bridge Scale: 35" Extra's: Matching Holly pick up covers - Matching Walnut cavity covers. To be added: Holly Truss Rod cover I've tried to give an accurate impression of colour, however as the top is rather pale the colour may look a little yellow due to spot lights used.
10.
I'll be there wedged between Matamp and Overwater Might join Tony at the Bar, last year made me want to take up drinking
See you there then Steve! Bee good to catch up
11. Here you go guys. I'd like to stress that these are prototypes, but are very close to the finished instruments - so not many changes. Even at this stage they are fantastic and I have a particular fondness for the PJ4 If any of you guys use the images below (other web sites, blogs, forums etc) please reference and credit appropriately. Overwater By Tanglewood (prototype) | www.overwaterbasses.com Enjoy.... Stu & the Overwater team
12.
This is the image in the press release so presumably this is the body shape.
Not quite... but they do look like a relation Photo's are available and when given the green light I will post them here... They look, feel and play great! Stu
13. One lucky individual has been chosen (at random) to receive a custom 30th Anniversary Overwater Bass. The winner has been informed. Thank you to all who entered - please check www.overwaterbasses.com for news and updates on the winner. We will be following the build of this very special bass closely Stu
14. Just to let you know these have now been withdrawn from sale.... I have a nice new job.... PHEW! Thanks for all the support and interest guys, it has been a tough few moths ..... I think it's now time for a new amp. Stu
15. Rick's aren't my thing but that looks great.... also Peter is a great guy! But we all know that don't we Stu
16. Morning, I'm still tempted to trade one of these for a decent combo or head and cab package with cash adjustment my way ..... any takers? Stu
17. Still looking at moving one of these. PM me for details... I may be tempted to part with my Harvest all black leather gig bag as well Stu
18. Hope the PM above means it's sold, but just wanted to add that the 200 combo is a great amp and packs a hell of a punch for it's spec. If I wasn't skint I would have bought it from John a long time ago!
19. Thanks John, I'm feeling rather pleased with myself today. There seems to be something uplifting cleaning up water, soot and other crap. Strange I know, but that's the way it is I'm keeping these up for sale but may keep them as they mean a lot to me. Stu
20. Thanks guys! As it turned out my birthday will be one to remember as when I arrived to work on the house I'm renovating yesterday morning I was greeted by water gushing through the ceiling, chimney breast and walls. A hose broke in my shower pump and I'm now faced with the cost of repairing the damage caused by the water and replacing the shower pump. So.... it seems I'm even eager to sell one of these at least. Stu
21. As it happens it's my 27th Birthday today. If any of you would like to purchase any of those 27 years PM me for a price. They've been well cared for with only a small number of years abuse while I was a student. I am a strict vegetarian who works out 5 days a week, cycles everywhere and loves playing basketball. Alternatively I'm also 6'7" and would be willing to sell a few inches of height. Stu
22. All PM's replied to guys ... thanks for the interest!
