1.
Yep, it looked slo-mo to me and I liked the effect. Though I thought Kit's lip-syncing looked somehow 'not quite right' in places, but your explanation of the double-speed recording probably explains that. But that's a really minor thing that I wouldn't have brought up if you hadn't asked. Congrats on a seriously good piece of work.
Thanks mate! I had serious fun at rehearsal last night with that fast tremolo pulse on a huge dub tone, long low slides sound awesome. It's going to sound massive live I'm rather excited. Cheers!
 2.
Yeah, nice. Where did you get all the asbestos from ?
Work.
 3. BTW, does it actually look slow motion to you? We did a double speed version of the song in the same pitch to film to, and then slowed the film to half speed for the final edit. I was expecting it to look more dramatic, but it seems quite subtle, maybe I've watched it too often
 4. Dear friends, I must say I'm delighted at your reaction! Thanks so much, we had a lot of laughs doing it, just like the last one. We're proud of it Can't wait for the launch gig and getting the EP out on Sunday! Thanks again xx
 5.
is it on her FB page...??
Certainly is mate! It will probably be on the moon by the time the week is out
 6.
I don't know the original, but that is great. I love the video too. Were they afraid the chrome streamer would upstage Kit?
Streamer's gone dude The 83 Jazz is now my main squeeze. Thanks for the comments, so glad you like it!
 7. The second video from the new EP Love Songs in Age which we are launching this coming Sunday 28th April with a show at Bush Hall in Shepherds Bush in London. Hope you like it!
 8. Good tone, decent technique. You need to work on your timing as you're a bit out in a number of places. Overall I would have liked it to have sounded smoother, more relaxed, it sounds like you're up against the limits of your present abilities. With some work you will clearly be an excellent player. Nice one.
 9. Cool
 10. Always, but they have to look good, no wire frames or shades from the local market.
 11.
Cheers Paul. That means alot to me mate.
Sub, I wish I'd have had access to this feedback when I started writing, back in the '90s you'd have had to pay for it beyond the opinions of your mates. Keep going for it and learn through everything you do and all the feedback you get. But remember, it's YOUR voice that matters here. You can choose to write songs to please other people, or you can write songs to please yourself. Choose the latter and, paradoxically, you are more likely to please other people. People who listen to music need to make connections with it, that could be anything, what you wear, your haircut, that you have a moon waxing gibbous on your EP cover, that funny little whistling sound in the bridge, that you sung 'Alf' in a verse and that was the listener's pigeon fancying granddad's name, it could be anything. But if you are honest with yourself and reflect yourself, rather than be a pastiche of what you think are others' perceptions, the chances are you will find that people identify with you and like what you do. People generally have a nose for the truth. Think like a comedian when you write your lyrics. If that doesn't come naturally, I recommend reading about human status transactions, there's a fabulous book called IMPRO by Keith Johnstone with an great section on it, fascinating stuff http://www.amazon.co...&keywords=impro There's a summary of status exchange here http://www.rehearsalsforgrowth.com/improv1.html Think about what's really you and write about how YOU feel, it's hard and it's uncomfortable, sick-making at times because being honest with yourself and others makes you feel extremely vulnerable unless you've developed some confidence, but if you do you will blossom. All the best, and like Skol said, keep it real in the Recording section
 12.
Good on you, Steven! That's your 'baptism of fire' done and dusted on Basschat. You are now fully qualified to cause dramas of your own and run riot in the Off Topic forum Seriously though, keep us posted on your music and be sure to chip in on the Recording forum. We'd value your input. Paul
Bang on, mate!
 13.
Are you sure that wasn't just an album? A mixture of Police stuff and Sting solo stuff?
I have that as well, it's called The Best of Sting and the Police.
 14.
S'funny....i was thinking what great timing mr sting has only yesterday....walking in the moon...simple tune....but i find the timing so hard.
You just need to relax into it, it's honestly not hard. It's got a kind of accented 16th note triplet feel, helped by Copeland's drum patterns, 1 and a 2 and a 3 and a 4 etc. If you think of it like that when you play it you can get that sort of relaxed yet urgent feel.
 15.
What pisses me off is that they were "The Police" and then it became "Sting and the Police", which make think he's an arrogant self opinionated twat.
Not to my knowledge they didn't. Who told you that mate?
 16.
They don't sound quite like any steel strings I've tried. I've been using them for years now so hard to directly compare, all I can say is they sound so good I've never been tempted away from them. I was hopping between brands all the time before.
Just put the Optima Golds 9-42 on the Strat. Gotta say, I'm delighted! They play and sound lovely. Thanks very much for the advice mate.
 17.
I think it's a gigantic waste of time. I also haven't set foot in there since I was rounded on for "offending dyslexics" by having the audacity to start a thread about common misspellings on eBay (Squire, kneck etc.). So it's OK for some people to poke fun but if you're not part of the OT gang then you're not allowed to even attempt to be observationally mildly amusing? Fine. That was years ago, but I'm a grudge bearer. Any time I've appeared in there since, the thread has been moved into OT after my contribution. OT can poke it.
OT is also restricted to members. That means members can talk about stuff like health concerns, relationships, whatever, and the support and help from other members is fantastic. So you should disabuse yourself of the notion it's all arseholes and elbows, it's not like that at all, there are very rarely contentious threads.
 18.
Fixed.
19.
There was a sex or gigging thread? What was the question?
A simple 'is playing live better than sex.' But I don't want to resurrect it via this thread so that's FYI only
 20. I have no complaints whatsoever. It a wonderful forum and very well moderated for the most part. The odd few complainers don't really indicate a trend for me.
 21.
Will you be having sex at your gig?
No.
 22. It was removed and I got a PM from McGraham telling me why. I had meant it in good humour and not in poor taste or to bring the forum into disrepute. But understand the reasoning since I suppose it could have become messy. I'm really looking forward to a big gig next week and I'd remembered EVH saying music was better than sex.
 23. Most of us like a bit of the ol' how's yer farver, but is spanking your plank on a stage in front of people actually a more pleasurable experience for you? Your bass, that is. I don't mean knocking one out in front of a bunch of strangers, unless you live in Epping or summat. I would rather be celibate than not be able to play live in a band. What about you?
 24. He plays and sings so naturally Jake, and what an ear for a song.
