  1. Its odd, I have a TE rig 1215 combo and 15 ext in great nick and I think I would be pressed to give them away.IMHO they are in a fashion dip, like 60's p basses in the disco era. I have a feeling that those with a clean headless graphite status and a matching status rig in years to come will be in the money. You know when you paid an arm and a leg for something and can't give it away - well that isn't because they were crap - its because the young boys who used to own them are like me old boys with iffy backs. I have a feeling that as we fade into history someone is going to be looking for 'That' sound and like buying a museum piece Ampeg, nobody will care about it being ply, mdf, sliders or heavy as a house. They will remember what we forgot - just how good they were. .
  2. I bought a 5 string with walnut top from another BC'er a few weeks ago. I lacked that little bit of mwah so shimmed the neck and thee it was. Huge deep chocolaty bass frequencies, thump at the low end and perfect understated mwah up the neck. I know there are other makers out there but this hits the spot for me. You know when an instrument is really good because you improve with it. It makes you play better This is a sound I have been looking for a long time, and the RA has been fantastic from the moment I picked I up. I know they are not cheap even 2n hand, but all I can say is that mine is the dogs. I am a happy with it in its own way as my 65 P. I think it is a modern classic.
  3. Bump, this amp has Kudos. This rig has shared the stage with the likes of Roger................ no not Daltrey, De Courcey!.......... and Nookie bear of course A bit of Class :-)
  4. Was practicing my pino riffs on mine last night, every bit as good as an old stingray amazing nobody remembers how damn good these are
  5. Oh dear, double unfashionable........... C'mon stonking great bass sound for pennies, weighs too much I hear you say... Is this the forum for the over 60's? When did Bass Players turn Jessie? how much does it weigh? How much does it weigh, ooooh Mavis my back....... Yeah it weighs loads! it has stonking great transformer - a proper power supply, not one of those namby-pamby switch mode class D types you have to nail down to the stage to stop it jumping round the stage. Proper class A/B power amp and quality components. It's made of heavy ply, the expensive stuff. Tough, reliable, and sounds huge because it is built like a tank. Keep your 2 inch nyodiminiumiummmnmmm cone arrays these 2 15" are rather good and shove lots of air. Honest!
  6. oh dear we are out of fashion.............Bump I know, I know I said it was the last one.........

  9. This is my faithful old Trace Rig, compulsory in the day if you used a Status with al low B 1x15 combo 12 graphic EQ and valve pre amp. Comes with 1 x 15 ext cab and original footswitch This rig saw me through some big old gigs an never- ever let me down. Thunderous bottom end, loads of grunt . It is fully functional and comes from the days when Trace was The Trace. Those interested, know what they are getting. Coverings in pretty good nick, no real digs or tears just a bit of paint missing from the ext cab corners. If you want the whole retro package, rig plus my Status Energy 6 string for £950.
