2. For sale is my beautiful MTD 535-24. Built October 2012 No trades, straight sale only !!! Pricedrop 2600 £ MTD 535-24 Presentation highly figured Honduran Mahogany top / figured Mango body, 35" scale highly flamed maple neck/ premium marble wood fingerboard, titanium reinforcement bars inlaid along the truss rod in neck, MTD "the World" logo, Luminlay side dots, body matching peghead veneer, truss rod cover, and wood control knobs, MTD custom hardshell case. Serial #2264. Weight: 9lbs 5oz "Wonderful "quick" and articulate MTD response, and broad and powerful "voice". Great fingerstyle bass. Exceptional slap instrument as well if you're looking for an instrument that doesn't have a "constricted" mid voice. This one remains very even throughout the entire frequency response. The mango body is clear, solid, powerful and punchy. It adds sweetness in the upper register while still being solid, and powerful thru the low "B". The fingerboard is "marble wood", and is similar to ebony in density, and performance characteristics. That said, with an MTD it truly is the sum of its parts in that MTD's are very "transparent". The electronics and pickups on an MTD are "relatively" uncoloured, and transient response is very quick, and accurate. This results in the instrument being less coloured by the electronics, and more of the sonic qualities of its woods being apparent. This combination that you are considering is quite unique and exemplary of Michael's expertise in combining woods. The response is clear, but with a nice degree of growl. The growl is not overpowering, and the instrument is clear, and not overly "aggressive" in the upper midrange. Its midrange and voice is broad, and upper range notes are sweet. Lower register notes are powerful,of satisfying "size" and texture, and controllable. Its voice is quick, but not overly bright or brittle... especially when playing in the upper register. Mango has a nice sweetness to it, and when combined with mahogany its strength and definition is enhanced. Most instruments with a powerful lower register tend to be brittle, or overly bright in the upper register. Most instruments with sweet top register tend to be a little "mushy", or "undefined" in the bottom register. This bass has a wonderful combination as described above... diametric opposites. This is the result of meticulous wood combining, and experience. This bass is a little more expensive than typical for MTD's due to the exquisiteness and rarity of its woods."
