  1. id rather be lucky than rich - martin harley
  2. I’ve lost count of the number of times i’ve tried to get into Radiohead or The Foo Fighters. I must be missing something but I just don’t get the appeal.
  3. Pretty difficult to judge music from another era entirely. When the world was listening to Vera Lynn and Doris Day he must have been astonishing.
  4. I would second that opinion. I’m not the seller but that’s a lot of bass for the cash. Yamaha BB’s and Sterling Ray 34’s can be found second hand for your budget as well which are great value for money. Edit: The only caveat being neck width. If a player has smaller hands a J width neck may be more suitable.
  5. In my teens I really wanted a Stingray as I saw Simon Gallop live with The Cure a few times playing one. It wasn’t really the association with the player, Id just never seen a Stingray before and thought it looked and sounded amazing. I still do.
  6. nah give me the raw honesty of dolly parton any day. im a closet country fan.
  7. I never really saw Nick Cave as a goth. Id put him closer to Tom Waits in terms of theatre and character driven prose. I like plenty of goth music, if taken with a heavy dose of irony as it’s all fairly ridiculous.
  8. best dressed chicken in town - dr.alimantado edit: bit late but still (just) works…
  9. The Nate Mendel P. But not roadworn, in Olympic White and with custom shop ‘62 pickups.
  10. Tom Waits Leonard Cohen Nick Cave Shane MacGowan All superb and Lyrically wonderful. Guaranteed to clear a party in seconds (apart from fairy tale of new york - the pogues lovecats….)
  11. first and last and always - sisters of mercy
