  1. Ah, no worries at all - thanks for letting me know mate!
  2. Interested at all in a trade for the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe?
  3. Any interest in a trade on the TLC for a Radial BassBone v1?
  4. Ah, no worries at all - glad your sale was a success
  5. Are you open to trades? I've got a Radial BassBone (v1) up for grabs
  6. Thanks Daryl - responded with haste
  7. Thanks all - I will check them out ASAP 😁
  8. As the subject suggests, where is the best place (online or through a shop) in the UK to buy pots? I'm looking at tossing my active eq and running just 2 volume pots. Thank you in advance....
  9. Hey. You open to a trade for an MXR Bass Octave Deluxe at all? Long shot, but nothing ventured....
  10. I always loved the effects on the POD. I've owned the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen of these... But always found that no matter how much I "turned off" things and created a "totally clean" channel, my tone was always somehow affected. Having said that, man, these are so tempting....
  11. Hi all, I moved to the UK from South Africa 7 months ago and it's time I got out and met musos and got a feel for the scene. I am based in Epping, and can get carted around a little (still waiting to sort my UK drivers out). Where is the best place for me to start? I have spent a lot of time getting established in original and cover bands back in SA, and got a decent reputation as a reliable dep and function band member - I also do backing vocals if required). Where, how, when, where? Any help would be terrific! Thanks in advance. Julian - [email protected]
  12. My thinking @Beedster. I was sent a diagram, and it makes sense, but I'm thinking V/V/T now... just to avoid the headache that's bound to ensue LOL
  13. OK, perhaps I wasn't too clear. Not 2 P pickups, but 2 Bartolini G6 Vintage units. The P bass reference comes from the V/T configuration, which I'm after for each pickup. The logic, flawed though it well may be, is to be able to have a very "dark" neck and "bright" bridge sound - or vise versa, or any combination thereof. The included diagram however, looks to be a possibility - no tone though, which is OK
  14. @BassBunny the cheap as old chips was more tongue in cheek than literal, but yes, I wouldn't choose the £2.53 option hahahaha If you do have, then you so are a star, if not, then you're still a star! And I will check out John, at your advice
  15. So my thing is that I'm kinda done with active electronics, at least as far as on board eq goes. Also, I have replaced the stock Yamaha pickups with Bartolini G6 Vintage ones, and they absolutely sing. So what I want is the 2 volume, 2 tone setup. Make sense?
  16. Greetings all, So, I'm looking to ditch the active eq on my Yamaha, and attach 2 P bass harnesses (cheap as old chips Amazon things. 1 volume and 1 tone per pickup. My only issue now is that I'm an electronics noob, and although I have a mate who will do the solder work for me I'm not 100% certain how to wire it all. I'm pretty sure it's not as cut and dried as just pairing the same coloured wires up. Does anyone, perchance, have a wiring diagram or detailed description of how to do this? Many thanks in advance my low end brethren
  17. So, long story short.... I drove through to the Ashdown offices, had my amp repaired, had a lovely chat with with Guy and wasn't charged a penny!!!! I started off with Trace Elliot amps, then switched to Ashdown (that glorious silver faced unit) then made a brief move to an American brand, and then returned to Ashdown... This trip to the source aside, I can't see myself moving again. Thank you so much Guy and company for not only your stellar service, but the amazing relationship you have built. Love you all... @Ashdown Engineering

  19. I shall be heading out there one Wednesday soon - work keeps on getting in the way of that trip hahahaha - hopefully it'll be a simple fix for me
  20. Yeah - sorry about that - auto pilot when I type some times - and as you can see by the duplicated message, I was having browser issues too. Sorted! So - I have tried so many different things - including emailing Ashdown, but I will contact the, here too (thanks for that @Lozz196) I want to open it up and try a different internal cable from the speakers to the unit itself to see how that works. I don't have much gear with me as a recent emigree to the UK, my gear is in transit on the ocean (I hope) - whch would make my life so much easier... Right - emailing Ashdown via BC (not TB)
  21. Hi all I recently bought an Ashdown EVO III 500 210 combo off eBay, and the amp is a win. However, it's just recently started with this odd intermitent scratching noise. I think I have zeroed in on the problem - it's the cable between the speakers and the amp - or the speakers themselves. Neither input gain, nor output level has any baring whatsoever on the noise - nor does the EQ, or any other feature. Quite literally, the cable can ge out, the levels all at zero and the sound is there. Before I shell out for a repairman, I want to see if I can fix this myself - so, good people of the BCcommunity - your thoughts please? Many thanks in advance.
  22. Ah, at MPH Guitars? Nice! Thank you What sayeth this group about the Bass Gallery? I would be most interested to hear any thoughts
