Did you beta test one too or were you just quick out of the blocks getting one?

I'll see how quickly I can get one to do a full review for Bass Gear Magazine

@Doodhas done video reviews of the B|Amp (the all singing and dancing version) - I think he mentioned trying the Forte too at some point.

Thank you! Yes I do! B|Amp is absolutely superb - and It alone has managed to distill several rack U's of kit I used to drag around in to a nice neat package. I agree with Chris_b, there is definitely an authority to the sound and I don't need to tweak much to get what I need. Forte is a great amp too and I am most definitely excited about getting my hands on Forte HD, the new B|Amp Mk2 and both the NXT and NXV cabinets for a full review at some point!

I really can't think of a reason to give up this amp, it's superb.

  3. My latest Bass Gear Magazine video review has just gone live!! Check out this beautiful Spector #Euro4LT #Bass !

Special thanks to Spector UK, Barnes & Mullins Ltd for letting us loose on this one - it inspired me to write this little tune, “The Spectator”. Hope you like it as much as I loved having the bass over.

    Hi all...

I am about to pull the trigger on the 1x15 version of one of these, someone I know knows someone who knows someone who has one kind of thing...

Anyone had one or got one with some experience? I really like EBS stuff, I used to have a HD350 with Neo 1x10 and 1x12 cabs and it kicked a**! WHy i sold the cabs I don't know... anyway... I had a reidmar years ago and Like that and I understand the Magni is a Reidmar 250 combo kind of thing... Just wanted to be sure before I committed! Price is £500... does that seem fair?

    Cheers!

I video reviewed the Magni 210 - it is indeed essentially a Reidmar combo, for sure. Brilliant sound and does the EBS thing very well. If I were looking for a combo, given that my brand of choice doesn't make one, I'd probably be looking at this as an affordable option.

Stretching to reach notes is physically bad for you, poor technique and unnecessary.

If 1-2-4 is more comfortable and you can achieve an even flow of notes, then do that. There is no benefit in using force during any technique. IMO, if it's uncomfortable then you're doing it wrong.

If you are going to use one finger per fret on a chromatic scale make sure you DON'T anchor your thumb and then stretch for the notes. Always move your thumb/hand so your fingers can reach the notes without stretching.

You can play a chromatic scale with just one finger. Try that and see how many times your thumb moves. That's how mobile your hand/thumb should be.

    This.

Only the tip of your thumb should be touching the back of the neck. Do not "broom handle" the neck to support it in your hand either. The other "thing" that I see students doing is opening the thumb out and laying it flat, parallel on the back of the neck. This forces the palm in to a position that impedes finger movement on the fretboard.

  6. In case it hasn't been mentioned already: You can open all of your Garageband projects in Logic. You'll have access to all the same effects, loops and channels that you had in GB, but you'll be able to continue adding to the project without having to rebuild anything.

Interestingly, sometimes I like to write something in GB so I don't get overwhelmed with "option paralysis", then open the project in Logic when I am ready to do so. A change of scenery isn't necessarily a bad thing at times!

  7. Go to the track channel and use the drop down menu shown. You can select a mono input there and what input number is being sent to that track. In my example I have selected Input 1 to record on to Track 1.

  8. I’ve used Direct Courier Solutions and they have confirmed in writing that they insure instruments, but with any courier, close attention to packing is necessary.

I pack everything like I am expecting it to be thrown out of a second floor window.

Original music with full band backing including real drums, no play alongs or "covers." 3-5 minutes tops, with very minimal talking if any. You have 15-20 seconds to convince me to keep watching, use it wisely.

    Thank you!

More thoughts basschatters! I’m interested in hearing them…
