  1. right took all you advice moved my hand position and started from scratch with a simple tune free's alright now but i still find im digging my fingers in while playing any advice on how to get the gentle touch cause im a heavy handed sod

  4. try the for sale section you should be able to find a peavey head and maybe a cab for 300 ish
  5. right ive always played using a plectrum always until now when i thought i would try finger style.but i think im just to heavy handed and always seem to get a lot of clack in the sound.the action on my basses are very low so have you guys got any tips i.m thinking about lessons but its hard to teach an old dog new tricks
  6. check the minimum load on your amp because the marshall cab is 4ohms and you dont want to knacker your amp
  7. due to old age im thinking of getting rid of both of my marshall 4x10 and my peavey head all very heavy.and go for the tc 450 head and cabs.so i was wondering should i go for two 12's or one 10 and a twelve i play in a rock covers band using a fender p and a bc rich warlock
  8. when i first got my mb450 head his site stated they already made covers for it so i placed an order.two weeks later a cover for a marshall guitar amp arrived so i contacted him and was told they didnt make a cover for my amp but he would give it a go if i sent him all the mesurments.it took another 3 weeks of emails before i got the cover.he did make a good job of it but it was to much of a faff dealing with them

  10. our drummer uses a roland v kit the one with the mesh heads and for the really small pubs we sometimes play its great because you can set the onstage volume really low and at the end of the night your ears are not ringing like hell.

  13. mine has to be a bc rich beast the fretboard was far to big the body was whaayyy to big and pointy and i wasnt to impressed with the pick ups but it looked awesome.dont think ill ever buy another bass off tinternet
  14. first song of my first ever gig was wild thing by the troggs at clifton rugby club in 1993 we got paid £20 a fiver each but it was the best feeling ever.even though there was only 6 people and a dog watching

  16. I once plugged my bass into the tuner jack rather than the input only done it once but the others in the band took the p155 for a while
  17. steer clear of the marshall mb stuff its not good and it wont take you long to find a few threads on bass chat about people having problems with them myself included
  18. your right.we were supposed to be doing another wedding next saturday but when our guitarist phoned the groom to find out what time we had to be there the bloke said oh i've been meaning to phone you weve changed our minds and are having a dj for £80
  19. we played a wedding last night it all went well until at the end of the night when the bride went awol and the groom had no money or cheque book.so it looks like its gonna be the small claims court for us

  22. gonna bypass the pcb fortunately i was running two cabs so just took the lead out and used my 410 but this changed the sound levels in the mix.im really considering going for the peavey tour cabs never had and probs with peavey
  23. guess what yet another failure of my mb115 same probs as last time the solder on the inductor coil broke third time this cab has failed.not good
  24. recently i acquired a washburn ab-34 very cheap but i can't seem to find any info on them apart from that they were discontinued.ive looked on ebay to but theres none for sale so any info you have will be appreciated cheers
  25. so far all our wedding gigs have been booked after a gig where the couple have stood and watched us play and interact with the crowd or by people at someone else's wedding that has enjoyed the night's entertainment its only recently we've thought about doing wedding Fayre's
