1. For me it's about what i have now. Not always a goal for each bass but I enjoy them all. It feels like too many but it's a result of 22 years of playing bass. Fender Geddy Lee Japan - Main bass/using it in the band. First 'real' bass Rickenbacker 4003S '91 - Bought with my dad about 18 years ago. Use it sometimes in the band, has emotional value Rickenbacker 4003 '87 - From my birth year and like the sound better than the S. Don't need it, but it was a good investment and love playing. Play's more difficult than the S. Tokai Jazz Sound '22 - Great 60 style Jazz Bass. Love the feeling and sound Squier Precision - Flatwound strings Squier Mustang - Shortscale fun, flatwound strings
2. Nice bass, and it might become unique.. Rumor has it that a group of creditors has filed for bankruptcy again in court. So be carefull when placing orders with Bax.
3. It's not my youtube movie, but get similar results with my 4003 + YYZ pedal
4. I have good result with a overdrive with tone control/clean blend like the EBS Billy Ultimate. Or a Sansamp BDI or YYZ pedal. It really 'opens' it up. For example:
5. Thomann has this one on sale: https://www.thomann.co.uk/ebs_billy_sheehan_ult_sign.drive.htm it can be a heavy drive but with the blend it can also be subtle. And with a good built in compressor
6. Same experience, love my 40th P. But came across a used EMG Geezer pickup and its a nice improvement. But the stock PU sounds good too!
7. Great bass, congrats! It is my #1 and have it about 19 years. If you ever want to upgrade the pups check https://tombrantleyrewinds.com/geddy-lee-jazz-bass-pickups Great upgrade on my GL signature.
8. A billy sheehan ultimate drive?
9. I have had quite a few but my EBS Multidrive is still on my pedalboard... but it's not new for sale anymore. Maybe check out a EBS Black Haze 2 or Billy Sheehan ultimate. Both with a clean blend edit: Sansamp VT bass DI for character and balls
10. First; nice bass! Never underestimate a HB ;-). There is a difference in DC resistance and resonant frequency. https://bartolini.net/product/76dl5c/ https://bartolini.net/product/dl5cbc/ I don't know how this translates in the actual sound.
11. They already solved it on some '80 4003's, just two screws. See for example https://www.andybaxterbass.com/products/1987-rickenbacker-4003-fireglo, My '87 4003 has this too.
12. I have updated my 40th precision with a EMG Geezer pickup. Nice improvement in sound and potmeters are included 🙂
13. Hi, I'm thinking about ordering a Rickenbacker 4003 at www.coda-music.com. Does somebody have experience with this shop? Or does somebody know another shop who has Rick's and ships outside UK? Thanks! Kind regards, Jasper

Hello!

Hoi Simon! Met mij gaat het prima, met jou ook? leuk, nog een Nederlander! Tja, na al de enthousiaste verhalen over de Wizards heb ik een setje 84's besteld, ik ben erg benieuwd hoe ze klinken in mijn GL. Grt. Jasper
15. I just ordered a set of 84's for my Geddy Lee. I'm looking forward to hear them!
