5. Very interesting topic, and by the way very nice technique man, you seem actually very relaxed and move very quickly across the board. I normally do not slow down, this was suggested by my teacher: he said that transcribing very fast phrases without slowing down can be a really tough, but it should finally help you to hear the sense of what is played even if not all the notes are easily distinguishable. I use finale to put it on the pentagram, I'd be happy to post what I have, gimme a couple of days! ciao Luca
6. Ok Nice bass, and also the floorinng is nice. How much for that?
7. boombassitc, do you know if the pus are voodoo JB60's BL or GR? The clip seems very punchy, I'd tend to believe GR, but I have never tried neither so this is actually blind guessing.. I'll disturb you once more Have you got any pic of the body without the pickguard? thank and ciao! Luca
8. Bump and nice price drop to 1050 euro (900 £) ciao Luca
9. Bump with price drop to 1750 euro (1500 £, to compare..) managing to connect also from here! cheers Luca
10. I'd as well say this is not walnut, but to be totally honest I stay with what I've been told (bubinga) as I'm not an expert. I didn't know that they could as well have used afzelia, but if it is the "sound of wood", who cares cheers Luca
11. Guys I'll be out of town for the week, I'll do my best to reply quickly, please accept my apologies if I make you wait Cheers Luca

13. This is exactly like mine, but mine is 5 strings. Birth year 2000 also for mine would you like to give this bass to me for free? They would be good friends and I promise I'll take good care of it
14. Thanks for the clarification Kev, and for the comments of course
15. SOLD Another good one is up for sale today. Price or trade value: 1550 £ - 1840 euro (negotiable) Price or trade value drop: 1500 £ - 1750 euro Price or trade value drop: 1420 £ - 1700 euro Price or trade value drop: 1400 £ - 1670 euro This is a genuine Canadian made from Sheldon Dingwall: Super J 4 strings, black with grey-tortie pickguard and Morado board. This bass features the Aguilar OBP-1 preamp: active-passive switch, volume, 4 ways pu selector (neck, both series, both parallel, bridge), bass, highs. The bass control is only a boost, but what I found really intelligent is how the Highs control works: it has the central "click", then half way up it is a high boost in active mode, half way down it is a tone control that works also in passive mode and let me say that I'll never thank Sheldon (or Mr. Aguilar?) enough for such a practical and intelligent arrangement. For the rest I believe this is quite standard: lightweight (my kitchen scale calls for 3,8 kg), Dingwall Singles in 70s position, but to be honest IMHO the bridge PU when soloed can get very full and 60s-ish, Hipshot ultralite tuners with drop tuner on E string. The bass is in overall excellent conditions: it has a very small ding on the back, and marks on the PUs (from location, under the strings, and aspect, roundwounds, they seem to be left by the strings as if a book pressed the strings on the PUs). I looked carefully but I couldn't find anything else. Also removed the PU to check if anything else was noticeable but everything looked like new, even the pus screws were not bent or showing damages. Instructions and all Dingwall original allen keys are there. In the price I include shipping to EU and a rigid very lightweight case that is not original but will protect it well for shipment. Not looking for something specific in trade, unless you have a pre-CBS fretless Jazz. I'm willing to consider trades + cash for gear that I can resell very quickly. Price is negotiable, if you're intersted throw a message my way, worst I can say is "no thanks" Any other question I'm here to reply PS and BTW: I haven't had really any problem to play on the fanned fretboard, and I could do that right away since the very first second I put my hands on this baby. The inclination of the fret on most of the fretboard assist the natural position of the fingers (that tend to open while you open the hand to reach the lower strings). Requires some attention only when playing chords or fast licks above 15th fret for me (note for the reader: I'm not able to play any fast lick ) And here is what I could see from the lock hole: thanks for looking, Luca PS: looking at the last pic, the one of the PUs, it seems like there are scratches in the body. There nothing there, I only increased contrast and sharpness dramatically to reveal those on the PU.
16. Price or trade value: 850 euro (690£) Dears, putting some of my gear on the blocks. Here we go with a small piece of electric bass history: very nice Thumb Bolt on from early 90s (Serial reads E000334-94). It is a 4 strings, MEC pus and electronic, all bubinga body and wenge neck, just-a-nut brass nut with individual saddle adjustment, typical warwick bridge, "W West Germany" tuners. To be honest I'm not a Warwick expert, but when I got it I was told that bubinga and wenge were used on Bolt Ons only for the very first period of production in the early 90s, and so Bubinga-Wenge bolt ons are now quite sought after (I will welcome any correction/comment from experts if this is not correct ) It has been taken very good care of and it is in excellent conditions. There is a small nick between body and neck junction, and some on the bottom (pictured). It has been regularly waxed (and I still have some original warwick wax). The Warwick strap and strap lock are included. I also have a Warwick gig back that I'd be intending to include with the bass, but no flight case at the moment. Will decide together with the buyer how to arrange for the case. Price includes shipment in EU. 17. that was my first Fender, same color. Very nice bass, I miss it and one day I'll get it back
18. Luke, I'm not saying that the clip will tell you everything of the bass, neither that the result you get with a direct record is nice, it is crude but it is very truthful in my opinion and helps to determine what are the fundamental tonal characteristics of the bass. but I can be wrong, this is only the impresison that I got up to now thanks Luca
19. I think that direct recording helps a lot to understand how the bass plays I don't like the crude sound of direct input as well, I wouldn't use it then. I also know that recording is a little pain, I perfectly understand if only few of us rec clips to help selling Cheers Luca
