1. I have a love/hate relationship with GAS and most of the time I hate it because I have no money.
2. Loving the Musicmaster. Not sure on the electric tape though 😉

Choices

Lake, Natural and Mint Green Guard!
4. Frankie Muniz (Malcolm in Malcolm in the Middle) used to play drums for a band called Kingsfoil (isn't that a weed?).
5.
Squier VM Jaguar Bass - was black:
Holy shikaka. That is the best looking Fender I've seen.
6. I'm tempted by a mirrored gaurd for mine, something bit different!
7. I'd love a DC, saw one one eBay UK recently, went for £180 😐 was gutted I didn't have the money, in hind sight a loan would have been worthwhile!
8. I'm afraid I have no pictures as I put the guard back on. It's newer routing, only visible holes are left from the gaurd screws.
9. Just take it off, really easy to do and you can do it without taking strings off. I did it to my white one and it looked good, just didn't want the holes!
My offensively yellow MIM parts-bastard, looking far too pristine for my liking. SD QPs getting fitted in the next few days.
That is gorgeous.
11. Haha, this may sound immensely stupid but was this ever a Leslie or just a cunning forgery?
12. Sorry about the poor pictures, two speakers!!
13. That looks great, good luck with your sale. The body and neck look very similar to my "Teisco": http://basschat.co.uk/topic/228476-new-life-for-my-teisco-jazz-bass/page__fromsearch__1
14. It doesn't unfortunately. I am not sure if my dad said it was still in there or not. I will cracking it open soon and get some pictures.
15. My Dad was moving house and asked if I wanted anything from his garage, so has a nose and found this little gem. Been trying to find out about it and from what I can tell it has been modified with an amplifier. Sound is crisp and true, going to be living in my garage this summer by the looks of things! 16. I love my Fender 9050M Flats on my SUB, would have another set.
17. I own a SUB Ray4 (Indonesian made) and it's superb, would have another, but in blue. Aslong as you tweak the EQ, it will fit all of your musical requirements!
18. I have lost the original ash tray from the Bridge that was on my Kimberly (didn't like the styling when I first got it) and after a quick scan on the t'interweb, I've found a couple, but http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Fender-American-Vintage-Precision-Bass-Bridge-Cover-Chrome/QX2?origin=product-ads&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_campaign=PLA+General&utm_content=WlfiSmxu|dc_pcrid_38200326199_plid__kword__match__ Currently is winning, as it has no logos but if you have any thoughts on a "boxier" version that is closer to the original, I'm open to suggestions! Going to get the Doc to make me a one piece pickguard in black and then new ones of the originals.
19.
Found this little item in my travels today. Its a page fro an old Bells Musical Instruments catalogue from the 60s.That looks a little like your bass in the lower right hand corner.
That is awesome! I wish I had the waterproof cover to match! Can't believe my bass was worth £31 quid!
20. Lurksalot - Haha, Lidl more likely! Jon - That is almost identical, I've taken on board what you've said and I think I am going to refurbish it lovingly and then hang it on my wall as an antique!
21. It doesn't seem to be on the website provided, so I would agree its' not a Teisco. I will make contact with the resident Jap-Crap experts then...
22. It's official title is a Kimberley - I've been informed that its' just another name they traded under...
23. So, I want to give my Teisco Jazz Bass a new lease of life. It is in bits at the moment and doesn't get played. I'm considering stripping the paint off, refinishing it, which I have never done before but given enough time I can do that, seen a couple of guides, anyone got any suggestions? Any preferences for types of paint? I have no idea what the wood is either... It does have a couple of dinks, which I will attempt to rectify. I also want to put a new pick up in, but not in their current positions, I want just one MusicMan Style Pick up in that sweet spot, would I need to fill the gaps of the previous Pick Ups or could they be left? I would be putting a new pickguard in, always liked the Mark Hoppus Jazz Bass pickguard, so would go for that or something similar to hide the screw holes! Probably go to Bass Doc for a custom job. Eventually I would also put a fretless rosewood Precision Neck on, I can measure when I get home, but I've got a feeling the nut width may cause issues, any ideas? I am on a SERIOUSLY tight budget, so would be trying to do most of the work myself... Any feedback would be much appreciated or any advise! The Hitmaker
http://www.thomann.d...aker_strato.htm Have you seen how much Fender are asking though? The pricing is consistent with their other signature custom shop models but for me the attraction would be the sound rather than the bragging rights or living some kind of disco fantasy. Hopefully they'll do a MIJ version. The Marcus Miller basses were very popular because they made the right noises and were priced at a level that was accessible for real musicians rather than middle aged mancave hero's.
Laughable price. Typical Fender though.

http://www.fender.com/custom-shop/features/hitmaker/ Now that is a Custom Shop guitar I'd buy, even just to hang on my wall...
