1. That comes free if you buy a bass!!!
How much do you want for the wheelie bin?
2. Hi Si, Good point - noted and actioned! I have had a few e-mails ref the basses and it looks like the guide prices given by the local shop may be a tad optimistic. Bottom line is that I need to shift these basses to get on to my next project so they do have to go. I am happy to talk "sensible" money with interested parties though. Thanks Mark
My friend just picked up the 5'er version of the KSD with EBS pre for £600, very nice basses so have a bump! Also, might i suggest slightly amending the title of the thread, people might think you're selling a 'Bass Collection' brand bass! good luck Si
3. More images of the Stingray as requested. If you need any further info just shout. Mark
Tyrekicking PM sent re the Stingray fretless.
4. Hi, Paid a visit to my local music shop last week and saw the guy who owns it who is a fountain of bass knowledge and he had advised that I should look at achieve about £1,300 for the Thumb and £600 for the Ken Smith. Hope that helps. Mark
how much you after for the ken smith and the thumb????
5. I am making a major change to my bass set up and as part of this I am going to be selling all of my current basses. Left to right I have a Ken Smith Designs KSD 704 Proto-J with an upgraded EBS pre-amp on board, next is my faithful old Warwick Thumb Bass with a thru neck. I have owned this bass for the last 15 years and I think that it was built in 1990. It has seen some use (gigs/recording) but is in great condition for it's age. The Musicman Sterling is "under offer" from a fellow BC'er but not 100% sold just yet! The MM 'Ray is 1991 and fretless and in excellent condition all round. If you are interested in any of these basses the PM me and we can talk money and I can send more detailed pics of each bass.
 6. Thanks for the compliment - I am thinking of changing to UL310. Any comments on it? Can you also advise how high it stands off the ground. My only gripe with the 2x10 is that it is quite short when on the floor. I used to have a 1x15, 2x10 set up and that was nice because the 2x10 was chest height. Mind you the compromise in terms of portability has been well worth it!
Nice basses, and I LOVE the rig
7. Thanks Dr Dave - for turning the pic round - would like to know who to di it myself. Technophobe number 1 right here! Cannot give you the 'Ray I am afraid but all basses are for sale apart from the Sterling which a fellow BC'er has put his name to! Thanks again.
Well - I'm supposed to be a Dr. so I better do my good deed for the day by making sure all of your cricked necks are cured!! Here you go. None of your free NHS treatment round here ,mind - so if it's all the same to you I'll take the fretless Ray in lieu of my consulting fee!
8. In between Cheltenham and Cirencester in Glos. No gas here so have to go for the lovely oil tank. Would love to be in Devon or Cornwall though - my favourite part of the world.
Nice collection - where abouts are you in the SW - I noticed the oil tank in the garden and insatntly thought you must live in the SW backwaters. I am in SE Cornwall.
9. Thought I would just upload my current collection for thoughts and comments! 2007 Ken Smith Designs KSD 704 Proto-J with EBS pre-amp installed (main bass at the moment) 1990 Warwick Thumb bass with thru neck - was the main bass for many a year! 2007 Musicman Sterling HS- Excellent bass and awesome sound 1991 Musicman Stingray (fretless) Can also make out the Epifani and Aguilar amps in the background - brilliant sound from these two. Sorry about the pic on it's side - computer won't let me rotate them - ok if you have a laptop! ENJOY!
 10. I was in exactly the same predicament that you were not so long ago! I had been on a break from playing for about 4 years and when I came back into this wonderful world of music everything had moved on a I found that I did not really know much about the new names on the block and what they were capable of! I found Bass Guitar Magazine pretty helpful and bought back issues on disc to read reviews etc and at that time I was also using the forums on the Stuart Zender site to talk to other bass players about what they were using. In the end I had to make the considerable trip to London and spent hours in The Bass Gallery in Camden which had everything that I was interested in looking at and playing. I have to say that that shop is great the owner is really helpful and they have practically all of the top makes. I took my basses down with me too so that I could find the sound that I wanted using my own gear. It may be a trip and cost money but in the end it has to be worth it to get the sound that you want. I ended up buying an amp and a cab from a manufacturer that I had little knowledge of but the sound that they delivered was all the persuading that I needed! One word of advice thought about forums is that you do have to take most peoples comments with a pinch of salt! What sounds great to one can sound awful to another! I made the mistake of taking advice on forums and buying products from Ebay without ever trying them out first and never managed to find the sound that I was looking for! A lot of wasted time and money! Make the trip to The Bass Gallery - you won't regret it I can assure you.
 11. Bristol Boogie by a little known group called Morrisey Mullen - not that hard but great fun to play! Hoping to do this track next with my band!
 12. Near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire.
Where be thee? I closed and re-opened the thread thinking, *'I bet that could muster up some reggae tones, I wonder if he's local'*
13. Hi, Thanks for the view on the Spitfire. Point noted. With regards to the UL310 I was not suggesting a straight swap rather trying to find out if a 2x10 was of use to you? Thanks Mark
Well as far as the bass youll never want another, go for it, superb, costly but heh! the cab switch seems a tad unfair from my point of view!
14. Hi, I am thinking of changing my 4 existing basses for a GB Spitfire. I see that you have one. What are you thoughts/opinions on these basses? I have an Epifani UL210 would you swap that for your UL310? Thanks Mark
Now def wanting to trade for a 2 cab answer to my needs, so looking for two cabs at 8 ohms each, 300/400w each, 1 I can take to praccys and double up for gigs. Great cabs as u know 750 watts, 5.3 ohms 26 kgs I believe, great condition.
16. I honestly have no idea what it is worth! I have had it for years and don't know how much I paid for it when I bought it. If someone wants to make me an offer then please do - if not it goes on Ebay!
no idea on price then?
18. I have decided to sell my vintage Boss ME-6B pedalboard which is a classic if you love the Stuart Zender/Jamiroquai sound. Perfect for recreating the sound from Kids and Space Cowboy tracks and those in the know will be aware that actually used this board on the albums and live for a while. It had seen some use and there are signs or wear and tear as you would expect but it still works perfectly. It comes with an instruction manual, power supply and also a separate switch to turn the bypass function on and off which I had to purchase seperately. I am really not sure what this is worth so if you are interested please contact me and make an offer!

 20. I am selling off a couple of my basses and this is the first to go. It an as new 4 string Musicman Sterling in natural finish and spec'd with both a humbucker and jazz bass pickups. This bass is just over a year old and has never ever been gigged. The 5 way selector switch gives access to a really wide variety of tones from the standard humbucker Stingray sound to a really powerful jazz bass sound. Comes with all original paperwork and hard case. Lovely bass. Looking for around £900. Just checked price at The Bass Gallery for the same bass and they are £1,430.
