Nicknamed The Planet Destroyer, this dreamy cab produces an extremely pleasing warm and thick tone. It's a sealed, infinite baffle cabinet with no ports, like the Ampeg fridges, which means you're just getting the pure sound of the speakers with no flappy woof. Moving it around is actually fine - you just tip it back and wheel it around - I replaced the casters with equivalent heavy duty types as the originals were shot. It's easy to get into the car too - just wheel it up to the tailgate, tip it up and slide it in. You'll need a bandmate to help you get it up the back stairs of the venue, but that would still be the case with a 4x10 and this obviously sounds twice as big!! Having speakers up at chest height is just great for monitoring too. There's something magical about the feeling of it behind you - it doesn't need to be that loud, it just moves so much air. Fall in love with the bass again!! All original speakers, GK bi-amp feature, horn attenuator. This cab is literally indestructible. Only selling as i've just got a GK Neo 412 as I fancied a change. The 8x10 is warmer and thicker but the 4x12 is just a bit smaller and lighter. I'd prefer collection from St Agnes in Cornwall but if you can arrange shipping then go for it. Shiply can be very reasonable for stuff like this. When I bought it the shipping was £50. You can even come and try it with your head at my rehearsal space.

Marshall VBA400 valve head - 400 watts 8x6550. This is the daddy of all the tube heads out there. Smooth thick tone and all the clean headroom you could wish for. Crank the gain for sweet preamp overdrive - the nicest and warmest of any amp i've tried or crank the master and control the amp with the gain to get some power tube involvement in the overdrive. Single channel with deep and bright switch on the output, simple preamp with Fender style passive tone stack and switchable mid shape for scoop, flat and pushed mid range voice. The high headroom of the amp means that your fundamental tone doesn't fall apart when you add crunch. And the simple EQ means you can easily dial in a variety of vintage and modern sounds. I've had it about six months but have only used it a handful of times as I don't get the opportunity to use it much. The previous owner replaced all 8 power tubes with Marshall branded Svetlana 6550s 18 months prior to me buying it so it should give you years of trouble-free enjoyment. Another advantage of the big wattage is the amp can run a bit cooler than say an SVT which notoriously hammers power tubes. The previous owner had a Speakon output professionally fitted to the back panel which is a welcome addition. Have a read of the manual and reviews online - this amp has gained a great reputation as a sleeper on the market and a true SVT killer with better tube life and reliability. Pair this beast with an 8x10 for the ultimate planet destroyer rig (not included in the sale). This amp is heavy but not stupid heavy at 36 kg - but it's a 400 watt tube head, it needs to be heavy. Look at the size of the transformers in there. I can lift it up on to the 8x10 without a problem. Moving it is a two man job in the flight case though! No expense spared at any point of the amp's construction. Comes with fitted flightcase. Located in St Agnes, Cornwall but can get the amp to Bath with a bit of notice if that's more convenient. You can try it cranked up through my 8x10 at my rehearsal space in Redruth if you like. Shipping not an option at the moment as i don't have a box and it's super heavy in the flight case. This bass just keeps coming back again and again. It's a gorgeous example I agree but just too much money. I just missed one of these in red sparkle the other day on Gumtree (UK classifieds website) for £450. Another black one went for £525. Just a thought if you're really keen to sell it...

I recently bought a SWR Henry 8x8 on Gumtree for a really good price but when i tried it at volume, i realised one of the speakers was already blown. The drivers are Celestion BG8-60 60 watt 32 ohm drivers. From the look of the cones there is a mixture of 2 variants in the cab currently - the top two and the second down on the left have slightly lighter coloured cones. The blown one is second up from the bottom on the left hand side. I used the cab once at rehearsal with my GK 700RBii but soon realised one of the speakers had gone. My aim is to raise a few quid selling the 7 remaining good speakers from the cab (which is awesome by the way) to buy 8 Eminence 8 ohm replacements and wire it series/parallel for 4 ohms. I'm selling these at £40 EACH as they're extremely rare and impossible to find as Celestion stopped making them years ago and SWR (Fender) don't have any spares. I can package them up and post at cost. If you're interested in buying multiples let me know.

Immaculate condition. Works great for bass or guitar and has direct out for routing the original and effected signal to different amps. Price includes postage. Pedal has velcro stuck on bottom which is easily removed. No original box but will be well packaged.

This stunning Stingray Classic 4 has a two-piece figured ash body and a gloss birdseye maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. It was completed on April 29th, 2011 (S/N B053500) but has been stored in its case ever since and is pristine. It is in absolutely mint untouched condition. The case is also in perfect untouched condition. The bass plays beautifully and sounds fantastic plugged in with the vintage style 2 band EQ. When played acoustically, the tone is thick yet lively and it has amazing sustain - you can really feel the wood resonating in your hands. The vintage style Classic differs from the standard Stingray with string-through bridge with mutes, slab body, 2 band EQ, metal battery cover and gloss finish neck. I actually prefer the 2 band EQ to the 3 band as you can instantly get the trademark Stingray growl that made the bass famous in 1976. With the 3 band EQ, I find myself constantly fiddling with the midrange control and never being 100% happy with the tone. The birdseye maple neck is absolutely gorgeous with an almost liquid figuring going on underneath the birdseye all the way down the neck - so difficult to photograph. These are really hard to get now with the rosewood fingerboard due to the CITES regulations. The retail price of an equivalent model is £2499 but nobody seems to have one in stock anywhere in the UK as far as i can see. The bass is located in St Agnes, Cornwall but I would be happy to meet the buyer somewhere. Or I could ship the bass although it'd probably cost around £50 with the insurance. The shipping rates are estimates of course. Weight is a comfortable 4 kg on my bathroom scales. Hit me with questions.

I'm selling my Ashton BV300 300 watt valve head. It uses 6x KT88 power valves, a 12AU7 phase inverter, a 12AX7 preamp driver and 2x 12AT7 preamp valves. It's been gigged a fair amount and the condition of the leatherette shows it but it's never skipped a beat and has been super reliable and sounds beautiful. When I bought it last year one of the KT88s had gone so I replaced it with a similar JJ valve, biased the amp using the nifty individual bias points on the back panel and it's performed perfectly ever since. It currently has 4x Electro Harmonix KT88s and a pair of JJ KT88s all biased at 35 mV. Tone wise, this amp is super clean. You can coax it into some gorgeous spongy and saggy compression though if you engage the boost, which actually increases the volts into the power tubes, and crank the gain to 3 o' clock. I've used it with the master at midday and it's plenty loud enough to keep up with the monster drummer in my Rage Against the Machine tribute band. After that point of volume it doesn't get much louder just more compressed. It's a great pedal platform and i've used a number of different Sansamp preamps and an Ampeg SCR DI in front to great effect. It really does sound massive. The amp is exactly the same as the Eden 300T head (manual attached) and the Fame BVH 300 if you want to do some searches around that. There's a fair amount of chat about this amp on forums and it's regarded as a bit of a hidden gem among tube aficionados. KT88s are pretty pricey at about £32 each but one day it'd be a good idea to replace all six with a matched set. Included in the sale I have a brand new unused pair of matched Electro Harmonix KT88s from Hot Rox worth £68 and I've been meaning to buy another four to replace the lot whole but the amp sounds great and is rock solid so i haven't done it yet. I replaced the preamp driver tube, the phase inverter and one of the 12AT7 as it was a bit microphonic. The amp has an 8 ohm and 4 ohm tap and i've run it through a pair of GK 2x10s and it sounds huge. I've just bought an 8x10 and am now looking to get an SVT or Mesa 400 so this one has to make way. It weighs a cool 23 kg because of the toroidal transformer and is a breeze to transport with the side handles compared to an SVT. I can post it and i'll pack the valves in a separate jiffy bag. It'll probably be around £40 to post with insurance. As with all gear of this type, valves do need changing periodically and I can't be held responsible for any repairs that need to be done once it's sold. I'm selling the amp in good faith and it's been very reliable for me but if you want to gig it in the long term i would recommend buying a matched quad of KT88s for £130 with a similar rating to the pair included in the same and then rebias the amp. I'm happy to discuss meeting up and would gladly drive up the M5 as far as Bristol to do the handover or my parents live near Bath and i could get it to them for the end of May. Eden E300T.pdf

This power amp is a 1980s pre-Fender SWR Stereo 800 and was modded by Pete Cornish no less to have Speakon outputs. These was the power section from the top of the range SWR heads of the era. Its output ratings are 800 watts at 4 ohms bridged, 700 watts at 8 ohms bridged, 400 watts per side at 2 ohms stereo, 350 watts per side at 4 ohms stereo, 220 watts at 8 ohms stereo. Needless to say it's a beefy sounding amp with plenty of power and the ability to use the full 800 watts at 4 ohms bridged is ideal. The inputs are XLR or unbalanced jack and each channel has a slave out so you can route channel A into channel B for dual mono operation. The amp has a pair of internal fans for cooling and the casing is fairly worn but it works perfectly and sounds really fat. The right hand rack ear is a bit bent but this does not affect mounting at all. Powering on the unit comes with a thump like a thumb slap to the E string of your bass. I've been assured by an experienced amp technician that this will not damage an appropriately rated speaker cab. Check out the forum entries for this amp - it's extremely well regarded with excellent reliability and tone. Weighs around 10 kg on its own. Happy to post at cost. £225 or near offer.

To update: Two similar cabs are available - they are identical except for the writing on the logo on the front grill on the older cab is white painted not raised silver. £200 each.
