  1. What’s the difference between the Crafted in Japan and Made in Japan instruments? Was it just a change in wording at some point, or is there a quality difference? Just curious as there’s one of these (in far worse condition) up for sale locally that’s under the MIJ tag.
  2. Things are slowly looking less sketchy for this, but still could do with some better organising. Was amused when I caught the comment below on their post… Also, any word on their venue changing again yet? They’ve been stating the CLS centre for a while, but at last check none of the rooms were booked for that date yet…
  3. Appreciate the input guys. In general, it’s probably overthinking things - the difference in height is about half an inch, but it makes the difference between obvious tension and a nice even weight distribution across shoulders and back. The lower setting is still higher than many wear their basses, so guess I’ll just get on with it!
  4. Any advice on keeping your back free of tension? I’ve always tried to keep my basses at the “correct” height, ie no strain to either wrist, but with my strap set to seated height, or even just below I get a lot of tension built up in my back and shoulders. Lowering the strap, even just a notch or two, almost immediately relieves it, but leaves the bass in a slightly sub-optimal position. Anything I can do to make this better, or should I just embrace the rock stance and get on with it?
  5. We haven’t had a drummer explode, but we have had one disappear… Woke up one morning to a message along the lines of “sorry, but I’ve got to go…”, and that was it. No further contact, social media disappeared, not one sighting… In my day job I even work in the same building as the guy and haven’t seen him since…
  6. I see that Bass Review Magazine are now advertising this event… 🙄
  7. Response vid up from Danny Sapko:
  8. Supposedly, the CLS Conference Centre, 107 Queen Victoria St, City of London, London EC4V 3AL. However, at last check, none of their rooms were booked for that day, so who knows?
  9. Well, I'm swinging back a little from 'scam' to 'disorganised but legit event'... However, if so many people are questioning if your event is legit, surely its time to get some details out into the world? The thing's only four months away...
  10. I think most folk on here are waiting to see if this is actually a legit event. Very little info on who's actually running it, what's taking place (few names mentioned, but hardly anything about it on their social media), and the location seems to keep changing every few weeks...
  11. Hey, we’ve moved again… Now Queen Victoria Street somewhere (no given address)…
  12. MonoNeon Whammy - Interesting new pedal, or a Whammy in horrible colours with some of the useful settings removed? I'm siding towards the latter... digitech.com/dp/mononeon-whammy/
  13. Where did you get the top-mounted extension pedal for the HX? I’ve seen a few around but not many in the UK so far.
  14. It’s not looking promising…
  15. Just had a notification on Facebook of change of venue for this. Apparently now taking place in a small pizza restaurant in Islington. Hmmm….
  16. Could be interesting, but none of the names mentioned so far seem to have posted anything about it…
  17. Amazing collection! Mrstheelvy says I don’t need them…
  18. Thanks. Need to update now though as all sorted!
  19. No, not yet. That’s colour coding from a previous incarnation. So used to the order that I haven’t bothered to change it yet!
  20. Guess, while we’re at it, the “currently unused section”: And the everyday home practice board (as constructed many years ago by Dadtheelvy) - empty space for trying our different pedals in situ:
  21. Ooof, that’s kind of a big question… OK, so as follows: super clean board: Wee tiny board (also used occasionally to simulate bass on an acoustic, using both outputs): Usual gigging board (key essentials): Looper board (for when the motivation hits…): And, just for completeness, board for when I pretend to be a guitarist…
  22. I’m sure there’d be divided opinion on that. I’d like a Standard mode exactly as the original (Octaver branding on the case), then the Waza option with additional volume to the octave down and, maybe, an external footswitch input to allow switching between the mixed signal and isolated octave down.
  23. Still holding out for that OC-2 Waza craft…
  24. I was torn with the OC-2 between using the “Octave” or “Octaver” model. May be some swapping back and forth with that one… Also, the Aguilar Grape may swap out for a Chorusaurus at some point, but need to track down one of the older models to match.
