  1. As an update, I've tried it on an individual power supply and it seems a lot happier with that. Power supply I was using should be putting out enough, but maybe only just?
  2. I've just recently managed to get my hands on an old Akai Deep Impact, seemingly in good working condition (lots of bartering and pedal trades involved...).It's been working fine for a couple of weeks, but has just started developing an issue where the effect is not engaging. It powers up and changes patches fine, and the On/Off switch LED lights up, but the effect itself does not kick in, and no lights happen on the Input Level monitor. Most of the time it stays in bypass, but occasionally there is just no sound. I know these are prone to glitching. Any current / previous owners have any advice on what to check? I've had a quick look under the hood and there doesn't seem to be anything loose...
  3. Panda Audio Future Impact V3 synth pedal with Roland UM-One midi cable included. Very good, fully working condition. All up to date with latest firmware and sound set for the V3 version. £260, including postage (ONO)

  11. Few article segments here: https://bassreviewmagazine.com/artist-jaco-pastorius/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR3iQLmOW13WSy93GUXDZTaL705wG-p27C4U0xvsILNmnH0BXxaOqn4Q-vM_aem_AdPPTvwDwUDnVCSN-oYr-LqFV5xnQ5a4ntEyZJ7vx1pQQrG4-5n89sO5eJHE65dUeIg35wXJsI-7QjwqRppjZb_D TBH, the Jaco 'Artist Spotlight' doesn't really say much more than this...
  12. Got to say, same here. I'm happy to see how things play out and get back into it in due course, but the same issues seem to be happening across the board.
  13. Curious to other’s thoughts on this. Have read the first edition and it felt like it may have been mostly AI generated? Seemed to repeat itself a lot and not really cover any new ground. It’s only just started, so don’t want to judge too harshly!
  14. Going up on eBay this evening, so last chance to jump in before it (hopefully) goes elsewhere!
  15. Interesting. Requires some different routing, but could work well.
  16. So, hear me out... The HX Stomp is quite tempting, but with a set of go-to pedals already it's difficult to figure out where it would sit with them. Pondering the alternative of two HX Ones at different points in the chain... It's a bit more space taken up, but easy to plan in different effects combos, and easier to power! Costs work out much the same, so it's more a case of how much space it takes up. No need for amp Sims, so am I missing anything with this?
  17. The Akai Headrush covers delay and tape delay effects, but is also a great (if simple) looper. Good condition (small wear spot on left hand side), velcro on bottom. Fully operational. £70 including UK postage (ONO) More info here: https://www.akaipro.com/e2-headrush.html
  18. Electro Harmonix Superego sustainer pedal. Many options for freezing a note and adding additional effects via the built-in loop. Excellent pedal, just not getting any use right now. Very good, fully working condition. Velcro on back, and just a hint of residue from a previous label on the front. This hasn’t damaged any of the finish though. £120 posted (ONO)
  19. The original Darkglass Duality Fuzz pedal with silver face. Discontinued model, now replaced with the DFZ. Very good, fully working condition. Velcro on back. Original box included. £130 including uk postage (ONO)

  20. Can vouch for these as an excellent OC-2 clone!
  21. MXR Custom Badass ‘78 Distortion Pedal. Based on the Boss DS-1 and (I believe) one of the old Keeley mods. Guitar pedal really, but sounds good on bass too. Very good, fully working condition. £60 posted.
  22. Giving this a trial run: https://bassreview.co.uk Edition 1 just coming out. Looks like it’s covering a lot of old ground, but got to start somewhere I suppose…
  23. My preamp-DI of choice is the Aguilar Tone Hammer, but their AG preamp pedal looks good too. Have used the EBS and it doe the job really well. Sansamp VT or Bass Driver are great, but do have a very specific tone. Happens to be one that most people like though… The Sadowsky SBP is great for super-clean bass, but very limited options.
  24. There’s octave down going on there. If using the pedals listed above, I would guess either the OC-2 with octave down isolated, OR the EHX Micro Synth on a low octave. There’s a bit of grit too, so potentially the MS again, or one of the fuzzes with a lowish gain setting.
