1. Gwil, the bass sounds lovely. Very warm, punchy, woody tone. It seems to record beautifully. Consider this a bump!

3.
Hi Steve. I believe we are on the same bill at the Farnham Maltings Festival. I'm with Sonny Black and Hot Club. See you then.
Hi Chris, That's good to hear, I hope we can get to meet up and have a chat at the Maltings. Hope you're well, all the best Steve
4.
Glad to see your winter hibernation has ended See you on 22nd at the 100 Club then Hamster
Hi Colin, Yes finally we start back again on Friday and I can't wait! I am buying a 1969 Fender Precision off Birdy and I used it on New Year's Eve on a local gig with Ian (I've told you this before haven't I?) but I can't wait to start using it regularly on the main gigs! How's your P bass project coming along? See you in London. All the best, Steve
5. Hi, Please check out www.ianparkermusic.com and come and see us on our UK tour, beginning this Friday 8th Feb at the Brewery in Kendall. Ian plays blues influenced original songs and is highly regarded on the UK and European blues scene. It would be lovely to meet anybody from the forum. Best wishes, Steve
6. Thanks chaps. I feel all warm and cosy now, he he he. Lovely to deal with, work with, share with and be friends with all of you.
7. Hi, Do you still have the LMII? Steve
8. What is the volume of the Aguilar's fan like? I hear they're pretty noisy.

Markbass ?
What I was really after was opinions on the sound. Those of you who use light weight gear is it a compromise of weight for sound. As I said before I like a old sound, big & wide, can I get this with light stuff or is that asking just to much. BIGd
My sound hasn't been compromised by using a cabinet almost half the weight of my previous Eden cab and an amplifier which is not only smaller and lighter than anything I've used before but on which the ouput rating is less!! Smaller, lighter and with a slightly lower output rating and the sound is bigger, smoother, cleaner, fuller, warmer than before. That's just my personal opinion. Steve

Markbass ?

I have a Little Mark II which I use to power an Epifani UL410 cabinet. The amp sounds fantastic, I am using it in a professional setting and am very happy with the big, warm sound that I get from it. In my opinion it's the best thing out there for the price! Steve
11. Hi, Where are you based? Steve
12. I remember seeing and trying this bass when it was on sale at the Gallery not too long ago. Very nice tone and a very comfortable bass!
13.
Of course Steve you have played this bass and preferred it over my Sadowsky! Steve
Yes I know, and I want it!! Aaarrgh!!!
14. You crazy guys!

SOLD!!

Yes, this used to be Jojo's bass. I myself borrowed it for a gig once when it was in our house. It is a fantastic example of a good P bass. The sound is fat and growly with a lot of character. Jo also used this to record some songs with a local singer/songwriter and the recorded sound is fantastic, generating one of those 'why don't my basses sound like that?!' kind of responses in me! Lovely bass.
16. What I mean is, if I was offered £1800 I'd be more definite about selling than if I was offered £1000.
17. Thanks chaps, Yes it's a beautiful bass and everyone seems to agree with that. Again, not making any rash decision here, I just want to gauge opinion on its value and see how it feels to consider selling it. Thanks for your comments. Steve
18. Ah, it would be lovely to live in a world in which I'd be able to accept an offer like that! ^_^
19.
Damn it, I knew I should've asked for some new glasses for Christmas! How much of the cake do you fancy? Be warned however, the P&P won't be cheap, this ain't no 'light and fluffy' sponge cake
How much of the cake? It is a 1975 Jazz in excellent condition so I would suggest all of it? And maybe a generous measure of whiskey too (why not throw in the bottle??)
20.
I notice you didn't prefix offers with the word 'sensible' so how's about £200 + some Christmas Cake (it's a very good one, steeped in my Dad's finest malt -although he doesn't know this apparently!) + a couple of unpulled crackers? I'll even come and collect to save you packing it up! I won't hold my breath All joking aside, it's a totally gorgeous bass and if I could afford it I'd be making you a very serious offer. All the best with the sale.
Look again... 'Sensible offers' is in the text. Don't worry about the cash though, just send that cake down!! Steve
21. This bass is in excellent condition. I'm not sure what they're worth right now so I'm getting a feel for it by asking for offers. If I am tempted by a good price I might go for it. However, I don't know whether it would be best to keep it and watch for an increase in value over time. I'm a player, not a collector, so not really sure what to do just yet. But make me an offaaah!
22. Hello, I bought this Epifani UL502 used from the Bass Gallery in London last February, with a Markbass Little Mark II as a backup. I find myself using the Markbass more than the Epifani as it suits the music I'm playing more, so the time has come to sell the Epifani. I used this amp on a handful of occasions and pretty much used the Markbass the whole year. Excellent condition with a tight, focussed, smooth sound. Included in this sale is a 2U rack gig-bag, and Epifani footswitch which I bought after I bought the amp. £800 (plus postage) I am based in Birmingham. Steve
