Morning all, **SOLD** I am selling my Fender Modern Player Jazz Bass V (5 String) The bass is heavily modified with:

Hipshot string retainer
ABM webster 6250b brass nut
Tortoiseshell pickguard (I will supply the original black pickguard)
East J-Retro deluxe preamp (http://www.east-uk.c...-01-deluxe.html)
Coil tap switches for each pickup 3 position (Front coil, Both coils, Rear Coil)
The bass is massively versatile; between using the blend control on the East preamp and the coil tap selection there is a range of tones available. The action is low and the strings are pretty fresh. All in all it is a good all round gigging bass with a wide range of tones and easy to play. Controls: Stacked Volume Blend (front and rear pickup) Stacked Bass Treble with pull boost Stacked Mid Mid sweep (frequency range) Tone (active and passive) Switches; Straight output from both pickups - Blend defeat) active on and off.....You can use the bass passively if you have a battery failure. I am based in West London, local collection is possible or a meet around 20 miles from my location. I can package the bass up if you want to organise your own courier You can hear the bass being played in this phone cam montage from a recent gig, this is not my video and I have no idea who recorded it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xp47gB_zJNk I am open to offers.....but not trades.
We could make you neck or mod your existing one . Check out the website if interested.
Aha! Could you put graphite rods in the old neck?

Fender Modern Player Jazz v Nice bass, nice neck......however, I want to make the neck a bit lighter as it does suffer from neck dive. Cue Hipshot ultralite tuners.....sadly, they do not fit the pegholes. Looks like instruments from Fender China are all metric. A warmoth replacement neck will not fit, the neck the provide would be too long. So, I can either have a fair bit of mod to the old neck......or get a new neck built. The question; Anyone know any really good Luthiers in West London/Slough area? Or Who makes really good necks - known builder?

Hiya, This happened to my corvette - been like this for years. I would say 'don't panic' - still okay. You have to replace the entire nut, you can get them from Warwicks webstore, they are simple to fit.
However, an ODB3 is never going to be a Darkglass/SVT in a box machine, regardless of how you mod it. In my mind, it is great for that '90s interpretation of heavy bass tones; a clean and bright signal with a hair of fizz on the top. It packs a lot of gain from the off, so it makes sense to blend in a lot of clean to keep it all in check.
Actually, it compares very nicely to the old SVT 450 that I own - it is not too far off and I think that the 1n4148's make a huge difference.......

Hi all, i was finding my boss odb3 a bit to shrill and basically, not a nice useable distortion. Roll on a mod; c10: 1uf r31: 1k c8: .001uf for more smoother compressed tone, change d2 and d3 to 1n4148's the above components are available on ebay for about £5 in total. I used a sprague .001 uf capacitor (as used in guitars fir tone controls) anyway, i am no professional electronics whizz and my general soldering is 'okay' - but it was dead easy to find the components on the board desolder and solder in the new bits. the pedal has gone from shrill and a difficult to eq to sounding like a tube amp that has been turned up. Much softer, more compression and 'phatter'.... a huge difference for a couple of quid. Pm me and I will send you component links.

The rotosound b is just dead and undefined. I was replacing a set of worn d'addarios....the d'addario low b had more zing to it.
