1. i think it has something to do with the power supply. should the plug have a 13A fuse in it?
2. if i can get the money back on my faulty 3.2 head i will definitly buy this if its still available. do u offer any kind of warranty if it goes wrong soon after purchase?
3. hi guys well, I just received my Warwick ProFet 3.2 amp today, but I am sad to say i am pretty sure it is faulty. It makes a terrible buzzing noise when connected to the cab, or to headphones, with or without the bass plugged in. There is nothing I can do to prevent it buzzing, it buzzes like crazy regardless of the volume or gain or EQ levels. I do not wish to open the amp up, as im pretty sure this will void the warranty, so I need your help as to what to do with it. many thanks guys
4. the GK artist heads have variable speed fans, so they probably wont be on if your playing quietly at home
5. The GK700RB-II is an artist-series head, and it is part of their top range models. Ive heard nothing but good things, and im probably gonna get it in August along with a GK Neo 212 cab. Its small and light and loud enough for gigging. And you can always add another cab to make it a 4x12. The head and cab will probably come to about £900
6. lol sorry guys. but this rig is gonna cost me like £1000 so i gotta get it right
You left out the most important consideration, which is sound. Combos almost always sound inferior, for two reasons. In the low frequencies they use smaller cabinet volumes for the drivers contained within, and smaller boxes result in less output and extension. In the midrange 2x combos place the drivers on the horizontal plane, and that results in poor midrange response and dispersion.
you say this, but the combo is exactly the same as the rig, just all kinda screwed together
7. im looking at getting either the GK Neo 1001/212 combo, or the 1001RB-II head and Neo 212 cab separately. They are basically exactly the same, and I could add another Neo 212 cab to the combo if i wanted.
8. Hi agen, I've made a list of pros and cons for buying either a stack or a combo. Please let me know what you think and if you have anything else to add to my list. Many thanks Combo pros: handle to wheel it around all-in-one package only requires one person when moving it cons: more expensive heavier bigger only locks in the front Stack pros: cheaper ligher smaller locks in all 4 corners cons: have to carry the amp separately no handle to wheel it around casters arnt very efficient will probably require two people when moving it
9. im just a little worried that if i accidently knocked into it, the rig might go flying if not properly secured
10. yes they do make one, but im just concerned about the dimensions. i want it all to be able to stack nicely, and so far i am only 100% sure that 2 neo 212s will stack. the neo 410 is wider and so the interlocking corners wont match up, and i'm worried the 212 will fall off the 410 (if im not careful). with the neo 210, i wouldnt really know where to put it. rather than being too long, it is 1.5 inches too short to stack underneath properly. this is the site i'm getting my info from: http://www.rmcaudio.com/gallien-krueger/gk-cabinets.htm
11. hi guys, i think i've finally decided to go with the GK neo 1001/212 combo. now since there are 2x12 speakers in it, i could either get another 2x12 cab which will lock into place underneath it and fit perfectly. or could i buy the GK neo 410 cab to put underneath it? i'd quite like to have some punchy 10s as well as 12s instead of all 12s. please could you tell me if this would work? (i.e. not topple over) many thnaks
12. hi there, does anyone have any "real life" pictures of that GK combo, cos i havent managed to find any. i've looked through all the galleries and found none. so if u have one id really appreciate a pic of it many thanks
13. hmm well i cant decide to get the GK 700RB-II/210 combo, or the GK Neo 1001-RB-II/212 combo. anyone had any experience with either that could maybe post some pics? thanks
14. i have an Ibanez Ergodyne EDB-500 bass, actice pickups, the E string is quite boomy, the G string is really twangy, but the sound from the A and D strings seem to get lost. they seem quieter than the other 2. but the e string is definitly the loudest. maybe i just need new strings. oh yeah and its made of luthite
15. nope, planning to keep it for a good few years. i have a GK1001RB-II
16. we arnt a very serious band, we just like jamming, and most of the stuff we play is RHCP covers. if i got the 2x12 neo cab, if i liked the sound of it i would probably couple it with another neo 2x12, or i might get a the GK neo 4x10, except its wider and wont look right. we play songs like stone cold bush and aeroplane and tell me baby, slap like that...
17. hi guys, just curious to hear ur views, which do you think is better for RHCP-style slap? two 2x12 neo cabs or two 2x10 ceramic cabs? im kinda thinking the 2x10s are better becuase people say the 2x12s lack mids, and are also more boomy than 2x10s, and have less clarity. the two cabs in particular are the GK 210RBH, and the GK Neo 212. anyway please could i hear your thoughts? thaanks
18. sorry guys but i've made up my mind. im going with the GK 700RB-II amp, GK Neo 410 cab and GK Neo 212 cab. havent tried it yet but i know i will like it lol. im gonna buy the 212 first, and then save up for the 410
19. sorry i dont mean to ignore people, i guess i just have strong opinions based on no facts lol. does the gallery have everything in their shop that they do on their website do you know? also it looks way overpriced to me but i guess i can buy somewhere else
20. anyone got any other ideas other than ashdown?
21. hi, if you have a cab thats 600W at 8ohms, when you connect up another one and it goes down to 4ohms, does the speaker volume double? i.e. will it become 1200W, or will it just stay at 600W? also, (this might sound a bit confuzzling) If i have a head thats 450W at 4ohms, and plug two 600W 8ohm cabs into it, does each cab get 225W out of the head, or the full 450W each? thanks
22. the warwick WCA 411 ND looks pretty good. i will be using it with a Gallien-Krueger 700RB-II or a 1001RB-II. i play mainly slap so i want something good for that. I'm also looking at getting two Gallien-Krueger Neo212 cabs, but this only makes 4 speakers altogether instead of the possible 8, and i'm wondering if it will be loud enough. I'll be playing rock with 2 guitarists..
23. hi, can someone please reccommend any good 4x10 cabs that are £500 or under and 30KG (65lbs) or under. many thanks
24. i think the combo is a bit too heavy for me, i kinda hoped for a 25kg limit. why would people buy everything separate, if a combo is basically the head and cab in one for much cheaper?
25. lol well my main concern is weight, and a normal 4x10 or combo is too heavy for moi
