1. Well i'm in drop C tuning, so it's quite deep already. I like a lot of definition but not too bright, I usually roll the tweeters on my cab down a bit. I like the tone flea gets. i've got a GK 1001RB-II at the moment which gets me the sound I like, but its a bit too heavy to carry around everywhere (its in the f/s section)
2.
I had the Shuttle 9.0 for about 48 hours. It had a problem with the chassis, but I still managed to test it. Definitely not for me...no warmth and too clinical for me. Very bright and pingy. Didn't feel that loud. RH450 is opposite...warm, fluid, full, tubey (ish).
What type of music do you play? I'm in a funk rock band and play a lot of aggressive slap, so I'm not sure if a warm amp is what im after
3.
I completely agree. I expected a more processed sound but it was the opposite. After trying the Shuttle 9.0 before hand, this amp was exactly what I was after. Mine has an issue with the power socket in the back which is causing other problems (the cord just almost falls out which is a bit worrying) but TC is has been very good with the warranty and they are sending a new unit. Other than that, which I presume is just my bad luck, the amp is spot on. I cant really use mine until the new one arrives so Im without it for a bit, but this has just proved to me that TC are one of those companies its safe to buy from and be looked after.
I'm thinking about getting the RH450 or the Shuttle 9.0, do you know how they compare to eachother? cheers
4.
Ok no worrys, just thought it would be ideal as only 9kg 26cm x 39cm comes in a posh soft case bit like carrying a laptop and has a massive 800w into 4 ohm output! in excellent condition, I will be putting up for sale on here shortly. Hope you get what your looking for soon.
At 9kg its about the same as the GK, i'm looking for something under 4kg. cheers
5. Hi Paul, I bought the amp of a fellow Basschat member (dangerboy) a couple of months back. Great guy to deal with BTW. He was selling it because it was his backup amp, and it wasn't getting used. I'm not entirely sure how old the amp is, but i've just been using it as a bedroom/rehersal amp (never gigged it), and it works flawlessly. Unfortunately the EA iamp 800 is a bit on the heavy side for me, so I think i'll give that one a miss. Thanks for the offer though
6. the RH450 is only 450W right? How comes people are saying its louder than a Shuttle 6.0, which is 600W? Is it just a super-loud 450W?
7. i strongly suggest looking in the for sale section, you can make your money go so much further by buying used
8. behringer are not a good make, i would never buy anything from them
9. I'm very interested in the Genz Benz shuttle 9.0, 900W and only 4lbs. But i've heard rather a lot of negatives, like its tinny sterile tone... I might have to go down to the bass gallery and try it out
10. my 700W GK gets the job done, but I wouldnt get anything under 500W, exception being the TC electronic RH450, reason being is i dont plan on changing my cabs any time soon
11.
The SWR Headlite is really rather good, I've been using mine for metal bands. Nice bright punchy tone and loud!
looks like a nice amp, but at 400W i'm pretty sure it wont be loud enough for my needs
12. someone make me an offer?
13. ok, just read the online manual and it says it does, thanks for the help! cheers
14. thanks, but are you 100% positive on that? cant really see the back of the amp in detail
15. Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying one of these from someone in the US. Will it work over here without the need for a transformer? Does it have a switchable power supply? Cheers
16. it sounds to me like you need a louder, more punchy amp that will cut through the mix a lot better with more mids. Check out the GK 1001RB, perfect for your needs http://www.gallien.com/products_rb_series.html
17. Are you looking to trade it by any chance?
18.
There's n amp shout out on youtube of the Ibanez head against a Genz Benz and TC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCnC0n4txgA
had a listen on youtube, can't say i'm digging the tone. I much prefer the tone from the Genz benz, and my GK. That punchy slap tone. I also think it will be underpowered for my needs, i play in a black metal 5-piece band. I'll have a look at some Epifani amps, but i need to find a used amp. so far no one's even made me an offer on my FS/FT thread (http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=81854) which is a bit weird because GK's usually get a lot of attention.
19.
Ibanez Promethean - half the price of Mark Bass but just as good, just as powerful, head comes away from the combo to be used with other cabs as required, extremely well made and rugged, small, light and portable. You can even get a gig bag for it....
this is the one your talking about, right? http://www.dv247.com/guitars/ibanez-p500h-promethean--64359 never seen that before, ibanez arn't really known for their amps. not sure what I think of the red faceplate, the amp looks like it should be at least £100 less, for that money might as well buy a markbass. Theres not much info on it, no view of the back either. Nice find though, always good to broaden the spectrum of amps out there
20. Hey guys, I've decided to move on from my GK 1001RB-II (http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=81854) in favour of a lightweight head. I had my heart set on the GK MB-500 as I love the GK tone, but i've heard there were problems with it, and since i'm looking to buy used, I'd rather not risk it. Another option is Markbass, but theres just somthing about Markbass that doesn't appeal to me... not quite sure what it is though! Any recommendations, or stay-away-froms' will be much welcome! cheers
21. what condition are the bumps in?
22. what are you selling?
23.
price? New rules....
If it's gonna sell, I'm looking for £450, which it more than reasonable considering its £200 off the street price. But as I said in the description, I'd rather trade. Cheers
24.
Hi As I said these items are sold, I put them up on behalf of another and the items aren't mine or in Kendal. So far as I'm aware the sale is definite and there's quite a queue of people who are also definite if they aren't sold Peter
You put "as far as i'm aware", therefore there could have been a chance that it was still available. no harm done in asking, right?
