@lownote12 Same for me, for now. GAS indicator is very very low. That said, I have owned so many basses and amps that I almost can say that I have tried everything and the ones I didn't try have absolutely no bass appeal. My last GAS was 2 Trace Elliot combos (BLX 130 SM and 1210 fridge) bought for very silly money and sold back immediately because there's nothing decent (to me as a fretless player) coming out of these really way too heavy boxes.

That said, I keep watching the ads, but there's nothing I fancy.

I have SES (Selling Everything Syndrome) now, just keeping what I like and use, but certainly not wanting to start another collection.

    And I'm really HAPPY !

Same here, my desires are gone, I keep looking but I am dead inside, I know I have all the basses and amps that I am ever going to need so looking seems futile now, send help!

The thing is - it did work and now doesn't.  And it does work in some circumstances such as playing my bass through it or in Jamkazam.  But playing back music has now stopped.

It wouldn't be unusual for an interface to change over time how it interacts with an operating system, good old Microsoft have now made my Gen1 Focusrite 18i20 unusable with Windows 10 due to their last updates / built in obsolescence plan! The fact that it is still working to some degree suggests that a re-install might solve your issues

  3. Sounds like the problem is with the link to the interface or the interface itself, the first thing I would try is swapping the USB cable, if that doesn't work, swap back to the original cable (as we can be pretty sure that is OK) uninstall the interface completely and reinstall it, if still no joy then try the interface through another laptop or PC if you can, hopefully that will tell you whether the interface is faulty, if none of that works, get in a huff, sweep everything off the table and announce, theatrically you are going for a walk and may be some time, proceed to flounce out of the house!

Not an option I’m afraid. She’s very, very good and plays a very nice Yamaha piano.

Headphones are an obvious choice late at night but in the daytime and early evening I’d like the option of playing through an amp or just listening to the stereo without causing the neighbours any issues.

It obviously makes sense to talk to the neighbours and I’ll do that but I’m also wondering if there are any practical solutions that might help too....

My mum has a lovely Yamaha Clavinova which cost her about £5000 5 or 6 years ago, it's an amazing bit of kit, it sounds and plays like a real piano but with the flick of a switch it will convert to silent with headphones out or output to the stereo, she was a concert pianist with a hand built upright piano for over 40 years so she was extremely picky about replacing it but she has been really happy with this Yamaha, I wonder if that might be an option as I know how loud a piano at full Rachmaninoff can be!

Just look over your cd collection and realise that most (if not all) of them are dead.........

    😎

CD's pah, I offer you vinyl and cassette tapes and yeah half of the artists are dead already! :laugh1:

  6. The Smiths at Dergate Northampton, arrived late, missed James as the support band doh! stayed for about 5 songs whilst everyone around me stood on one leg whirling Gladioli about, I though they are never going to take off doing that, left and went down the pub instead!

Sisters of Mercy Rock City early 2000's ish, having seen them there on their first tour they were brilliant, this time they were dull and boring so we left!

    These crop up as b-stock...

I owned one of these for all of about a week, I donated it to cat rescue after that, it was supposed to have been a B stock instrument which had apparently already been sold so they sent me a brand new one....given how bad the new one was I dread to think how poor the B stock instrument would have been! It arrived with the bridge pickup not wired up, an action you could through a blanket over and go camping! I wired it correctly set it up as best as could be done with it and got rid of it...for me this was a classic case of you get what you pay for!

  8. I had the misfortune of owning a Rockbass Corvette $$ for all of three weeks, I was pre-warned that the control pots were not the correct value for the pickups so out of the box they sounded pretty ropy, boy they were not wrong, despite fully rewiring it it still sounded awful, I can honestly say it was the most disappointing bass I have ever owned. I later owned a LTD edition German Corvette $$ and although it was massively better than the Rockbass I still found it underwhelming! I sold it on, it was sold on again soon after and indeed appeared for sale again on Ebay recently!

As @Lfalex v1.1 said if you have decent basses already in your collection I also think you will be disappointed with it and like @TheGreek I scratched my Warwick itch by buying a Spector!

I saw Paul Young around this time, great band. The backing vocalists were introduced as ‘The Fabulous Wealthy Tarts’. The album ‘No Parlez’ had just been released, first time I’d heard of Pino. Happy days.

I saw them at the Derngate Theatre in Northampton on the No Parlez tour, I was absolutely blown away by quality of the band but especially Pino and some 37 years on I am "pleased" to say I still can't play like Pino!!
