I find stopping and starting songs in iTunes a real nightmare![/quote] hey no worries, well im going to do a slow walking bass line / blues one for her too, maybe later today, and also a little octave song aimed at starters, so ill post them any way on this tread ;-) you sound like your doing well and playing the right stuff. You can play to faster stuff rnr using the 1-5. and joining root-4 n root to 5 with some notes from the major scale you are in. say your playin in c, then use d/e from the major scale to link to the chord change from c-f. ill do this vid later, you will see what i mean. but yeah, do it slow, speed will come. ;-)

Real nice and that a root 5 but theres a real nice bit where the bass goes in unison with the guitar. I tell u there are some real great things in rock n roll and country playing.

They do sound nice and growly though, and been on there about 2 months and played everryday. Thought id try light strings, but i don't like them, need something like 45-105's they are 40-95. [/quote] that sort of thing is real bass playing for what a bass is for, how rubbish would it be to funk slap a bassline like that, but many funk slap bass lines can be replaced by finger bass lines. while of course slap is bass guitar, and i love it too, and i use it often, it is not really what bass is about bout another dynamic to an amazing instrument . dependng on ur budget the best bass i have had for slap is what i have now, the bongo, on this forum there is a vid of me slappin to peg, and u can here it there. But nowdays many basses much cheaper offer a great slap tone. For me dont have your mid up to high on the amp, have a scooped slope for a nice responce. A compressor is good but tis not something i use but i do have. If you need a link to peg let me know.

One thing we have no shortage of is around here is jams! they are all over the shop every day of the week! I never even heard of that song to be honest! Thats what jams r about just fun really. Most of the time the singer gets up right we are doing this in such n such heres the feel ere we go! abd hats it! great fun! We do get some great funky instrumentals going as well around the 12 bar change but with a funky feel, and of course the old rock songs, but there is a guy that comes up Doug, singer guitar real class old skool player and he does robert cray/doobie bro, great stuff, me him and that drummer may put a littl funky 3 piece together, get out n do a few gigs around our other work ;-)
