1. maybe the aliens took all the basses with them
2. are the custom shop pickups that much better or is it worth saving yourself £200?
3. Can u post sum pics for us to oggle? i really want a corvette
4. Check out my band UBAM! www.facebook.com/ubamband
5. Got a chance yesterday at band practice to try out the things you guys said and guess what?.... It worked! Thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated
6.
Have you tried lowering the pickup on the E string side? It could just be too close to that string giving more output
I have, it worked to some extent but its at the point now where the 'E' side is as low as it will go and the rest is as high as it will go..... thinking of taking it to a guitar tech/ luthier to have a look at
Or you could be hitting the E string harder! You may laugh, I did experience this when someone told me they had a problem with a bass
Lol, its not that, ive played other basses and not had this problem
7. IMO Yamaha definitely make the best budget instruments for sure, ive got one problem with my RBX170 where the E string sounds louder then all the others but other than that i cant fault it and its taken some punishment over the last 7 years
8.
Yep, if they all are at three o'clock its IN THEORY the same as raising the gain on your signal, so you would get the same effect using the knobs at 12oclock and raising the gain a bit. I repeat, this is theoreticaly speaking. When using EQ the main thing to keep in mind is to have all settings balanced around the 0dB position: Read pages 7, 8 and 9 of this manual: http://www.britishau...om/inst/SMX.PDF The chapter called "Using the Graphic Equalizer". I know you don't have a graph EQ on your amp but the main idea is the same
Ok thanks, looks like where i've got the knobs at 3 oclock i'm boosting it too much
9.
My current pair '90 Thumb NT and '88 Streamer SS1
Nice pair!
10.
Yeah try the active input and see if this calms things down. You're not using any pedals with boost are you? I used to use an RBX170 with an EB combo, and never had this. Does it sound ok? Not distorted? What are your tone settings etc? These will also affect the VU meter. Cheers Geoff
All my pedals were switched off, my bass/mid/treble are all around the 3 oclock position, u think i should dial them back a bit?
11. Theres 2 inputs active and passive, im using a passive bass (Yamaha RBX170) through the passive input Sounds fine, just worried it might damage it long term
12. Tried that, didnt make a whole lot of difference, it was in the 9 oclock position to begin with
13. Hi all, During band practice im noticing my vu meter on my EB15 is constantly in the red, sometimes even off the scale! is there any problem with this or should i just ignore it? I know my playing isnt off the scale
14.
I'm saving up for some tasty IEM goodness but in the meantime I'm using ACS ER20s They're about £8 delivered if you buy them online, I can chat between songs without taking them out and my ears don't ring after rehearsal....
+1 I also use the ER20s there really good especially for the price
15. Thinking of going down there myself, they have a very nice Warwick i'd like to look at... and its only half hour down the road
16. I keep telling myself i wont buy a Fender (due to all the horror stories i keep hearing) but recently ive been seeing alot of beautiful p basses. Thankfully most of them are miles away.... GAS resisted!
17. Any news on when the bass dept. is getting expanded?
18. The Steve Harris two-finger gallop. well...... I'm still trying to pick it up
19.
Have you thought about the Warwick Rockbass option? http://www.thomann.d...CFe3KtAodRxMA3w
I have but i wanted something with a bit better build quality, plus with the active/passive switching on the german one will give me alot more tonal options etc. oh, and you can get a secondhand german for roughly the same price as the rockbass retails for
20.
If you can find a 2nd hand 5-string Corvette $$ for 800 notes then you'll have something perfect for metal than can also be tamed to suit other genres. I have one, and a 5 string Stingray and several other 5's, and if I had a metal gigged lined up, the Warwick would be my 'go to' bass! Edited for dodgy spelling.
A Warwick Corvette $$ 5 would be my #1 choice but i havent seen one for sale on here yet
