Collection only from Gloucester. It used to house my GK Fusion 550. It's really light, about 1kg. No lids, I don't think it ever had lids/covers. All feet are there. Handle is solid. I would have kept this if I hadn't seen that 550 for sale in a 3u Gator rackbag.

From one Sean to another, thanks for a fantastic Basschat deal. Great comms, rapid responses. Enjoy the bass, I'm glad she's with someone who appreciates her for what she is.

Hopefully, they'll get some less arrogant and more customer-focused staff as part of the move. Every interaction I've had with the one has been "sub-optimal". I wouldn't employ him to sell plectrums let alone high end spendy bass gear.

If relevant, I'd be happy to do a TonePumpectomy and LHZ preamp install on a Spector, if people wanted to see one being done. I've done 5 already that are documented on the Spector thread.

The Mesa Big Block, every day of the week and twice on Bass Bash Sunday.

I've mailed my pickup contact to see if he's interested in attending either/both the SE and SW bashes and doing some pickup-related talk or tech comparison for us. I'll update when I get a response. Fingers crossed. ATB Sean

I've just bought a cab from Mike, who's a lovely chap and a absolute gent. I was in a bit of a rush so didn't get much of a chance to chew the fat. Maybe next time. Another great basschat deal and one of the reasons why this community works so well. Thank you, Mike.

How do we feel about me approaching someone I know to do a talk on pickups? He is very very good with an audience and does it for a living. I reckon if we got the numbers up to 40+ I could convince him. It's just a matter of whether we're actually interested. If we videoed it, and put it on The You Tube, as Uncle Bryn calls it, it could be worth while for him.

It's the same distance from me as the SW Bass Bash, so it seems silly not to go. Put me on the list, please.

I've got some lovely emails and a handwritten note from Dennis. I spoke to him on the phone once and he's all about customer support. This was in my parallel life where I'm a guitarist. I've never had a Vintage bass. I've still got the freebies he sent too.

Show us your rig of choice for the weekend ** Basschat edition**

Hopefully this is a one time only deal. GK Fusion 550 running through a headless Mesa Walkabout. The Walkabout head needs repairs, my green TWO10s is up for sale, so it's staying at home. It sounded good at sound check but it's really different. -
Does this apply in reverse? Hypothetically, if one had a collection of Sadowsky, Valenti, AC, Lull etc basses, would one still take the Fender? I mean, Joe Blow doesn't know the difference between a Jack & Danny's and and an Alleva Coppolo, they're both obscure, niche brand FSOs. My Jap Yamahas have been the victims of Fender-snobbery many times.

I've delayed a bit in responding to this but there's been a lot going in in my head with how I can learn from it. I've already been in touch with Wub (if you know, you know) and I'm about 2 weeks away from a new fuzz. Thank you very much for sharing that post. i loves a posh pedal board.

I just sold a cab to Nigel. All very straightforward and another great basschat transaction. Nigel is a top bloke and very easy to deal with. Thanks again.

That's crazy inflation 😁

It shows as £279 for me.

Seriously posh pedalboard array there. Is there a thread/post on it? I'd love to know more especially about the switches at the front.

NBD: 1998 G&L L-2000 - the one from the catalogue...
Sean replied to wateroftyne's topic in Bass Guitars
That was for sale about 4 miles from me. I think that if the seller's photos had been half as good as yours, it would have sold fast. I had no idea the figuring was that good. It's a stunner. -
Who's staying which night and where? I'd rather stay the Saturday night but could make either work. I don't think I could do both.

I've updated my bit: 1. Rich - Trace Elliot TE-1200 amp, Barefaced Super 12T cab, earplugs , Shuker custom 5, Tanglewood TRB-CE acoustic bass gtr. 2. Woody - Rickenbacker 4004-L5, maybe Sei Flamboyant, Same old basschat 12" with some amp, other stuff TBC 3. Pinball (tbc) - some interesting basses 4. Stubsy - Joyo BadASS, GRBASS AT212 slim - only 50W but that should give 120dB at one metre 😇. (or I bring my TE 1110 combo). Some fun pedals. Perhaps the AVII 1960 precision, the Sire P10 and maybe the Fender Performer and something unexpected... 5. Sean - Mesa 400+, Laney Nexus Tube 400 [oh jeez], MJW Taranis 200 (Filthbox Matamp clone with extra channel and EQ), GK MBF500, GK Fusion 550, 2 x LFSys Monaco, 2 x Japanese Market Spector Euros with LHZ-03 preamps, Valenti #005 Super P, Yamaha BB1300, my small but well-appointed pedal-board (Origin Cali 76, Origin DCX, Aguilar Chorusaurus, etc) plus a mini walk-in bass surgery if interested. Plus whatever I might be selling at the time. 6. Rosie - likely I'll bring my upright, set up for bluegrass/folk/jazz if anyone's not played upright before and fancies a go 7. Phil - BassChat cabs, maybe some sort of shootout? 8. MikeD - Laney Digbeth, Zilla 212, Dingwall Combusion, Revelation PJ, pedals, try to finish home made bass🤞🤞🤞🤞 9. neepheid - G&L CLF L-1000, Yamaha BB1200, Sire D5, Sire Z7, Greco LGB-700, Reverend Triad, Epiphone Les Paul (not so) Standard, Epiphone Thunderbird '64, Squier Jaguar H (with Ibanez CAP double humbucker from ATK200/800 etc), Gear4Music rat bass (with Lace Aluma-P), £150 giggable bass challenge, 1 or 2 amps depending upon space... Edited Monday at 15:17 by Rich 10. Jabba_the_gut - Note sure what stuff yet........
