  1. I've been watching videos of these amps this afternoon, they sound great.  I did own the Legacy but it wasn't for me... perfect if you want to slice the faces of every one in the front row.

So, do Gallien-Krueger still sell products in the UK? I've had a look around today and no one has any of the new Fusion S or the new Neo cabs for sale. Polar only have the odd item available, you would think they'd have the full line up... weird.

  2. Find similar bands, see who promotes them. Contact both parties for support slots.

Find the same genre festival type gigs, approach them and/or the bands for a slot/support.

Put your own gig on with a couple of similar bands, preferably ones who are a bit more established...  the people will come.

We've done all the above and it's all worked to varying degrees. Promoting your own is a challenge and worrying until people start to pile in the venue.

...side note: you won't get rich but may make enough for a sausage roll and a can of Tizer to share with your band mates after the gig.

The song that got me hooked 30 odd years ago. Needs to be played with this beauty 😉

    Remarkable voice, fantastic song.

I'm sure I read the bass tracks on Dirt were several different recordings overlaid to get the sound.

  4. For £150 it's a real bargain. Sounds good, eay to use and well built, although It does have the slight volume pot crackle but only when sound is coming through, if you aren't playing and turn the dial it's fine.

I certainly prefer it to the GK Legacy, which I sold after a short period of constant fiddling.

Thanks for the heads up @stewblack

Yes, this mosfet version is a PF800 clone, the tube version is a Streamliner clone. Just compare the controls and feature sets of the four amps.

I have no idea what if any similarities it has to any other brand.

Plenty of folk here saying how excellent it is. I tend to go with Basschatters' reviews rather than any others.

But hey if you don't like the sound of it you don't have to buy it.

No worries mate, some one mentioned PF800 so I thought I'd check it out.  G4M don't have any on display in York to try and I'm guessing the poor quality videos on YouTube don't do it justice hence the question.

  7. Is this an Ampeg class D knock off and does anybody have a useful link to it being used or a demo? All the stuff on YouTube is horrendous... even the manufacturers effort sounds like someone throwing a bag of glass bottles down a flight of stairs.
